New radio single and CD title track "Write My Story" is now spinning on Christian and college radio in the US and Canada. A music vidoe for the new single will be released in March and was produced by former VH1 producer Scott Hoffmann.
Air Five founding members Ben Peeples (songwriter/vocals/guitar) and Michael Segarra (bass/backing vocals) have been friends nearly their entire lives. The group has been a natural progression as their common musical passions grew beyond the typical garage banter into a professional band; touring nationally, securing a label deal and radio play on both Christian and mainstream college stations. The Tennessee based trio completes their sound with Memphis drummer Taylor Carroll.
Their fresh approach to both music and ministry is evident as their music journeys through a deluge of human emotion. From conquering the shackles of hopelessness in "Hold My Hand" to surrendering yourself to God's will in "Write My Story," to the powerful declaration of "Here's Me Letting Go," the band delivers infectious harmonies alongside a rock infused pop bounce, akin to bands like Relient K, Blink 182 and New Found Glory, while carefully establishing their own identity in today's crowded music scene.
Air Five's debut national release "Write My Story" on Audio Frenzy Records (Infinity Music Distribution) captures snapshots of life. "We love punk rock music, and we want to use it to reach others" states Peeples. "See-- our music isn't all about God…it is really music about life from a Christian perspective. I think a lot of people relate to that. We are all Christian guys but we don't feel like it's our calling to preach at people. We simply want to be light to anyone who doesn't know Jesus." The disc was produced by former Audio A member / Dove & Grammy winner Barry Blair (Bleach, Candlefuse) and mixed by Dove & Grammy "Producer of the Year" nominee Brian Hardin (Manic Drive, Paul Alan, Jill Parr, FFH, These Five Down).
Their first radio single, "I Will Carry You" garnered play on 200 mainstream college radio stations and in 350+ Christian radio markets. "We really believe in Write My Story and its potential to connect with people from all walks of life," offers Peeples' intimately, "When people listen to our album, I hope they have fun, cry, laugh, and relate. We hope it speaks to them in whatever way they need it to."
"We are not concerned with fitting a mold and we aren't offended by comparisons to other bands," says Peeples boldly. "We are simply doing what we love, and trying our best to stay in the center of God's will. Nothing else really matters."
