At the end of their last album, "Beauty In The Broken", Starfield achieved their best radio success to date, were selling twice as many records in half as much time, and had their best touring season in their 6 year history - to say the least, they were gaining momentum. And with a growing foundation of support, teaching and accountability back home in Canada, the band felt recharged.
Inspired by their home congregation, Starfield's new songs are accessible enough for corporate worship while offering listeners a potent combination of substance and style. The substance turns out to be the theme and title of the record - I will go.
'We're so privileged, yet we're so dissatisfied with our lives no matter how well we're doing,' lead singer Tim Neufeld says. 'There's always this underlying pressure to be doing better, when the exact opposite should be the case. The pressure and call on our lives should be to live with less and give away more.'
While Tim is the first to admit that he doesn't have it all figured out, he wanted to offer up a worship song that 'commissions people to go out and do something'not to just give money to those in need, but our time and energy.'
'That idea gives a worship song a different agenda,' Tim continues. ''I Will Go' is a difficult song to sing and not act on. Ultimately, we hope to provide perspective on how comfortable and convenient our lives have become.'
With I Will Go, Starfield's musical mission has never been clearer. Instead of offering the masses yet another CD, the band ventures out into a hurting world with an intentional message that encourages listeners to step behind the confines of comfort for a life of faith that's truly extraordinary.

9/10/2009 - Starfield Launches Fall 2009 "Reign In Us" Tour
Sparrow Records award-winning Canadian modern rock band Starfield sets out this month on its fall 2009 “Reign In Us” tour, visiting 37 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Additionally featuring Inpop Records’ Canadian-based band Article One, the tour kicks off Sept. 22 and wraps late November.
A perennial fan favorite in the band’s native Canada, Starfield is among the country’s best-selling tour bills year after year. Having invested in developing similar relationships with churches across America, the Starfield frenzy has taken root in the U.S. as well, becoming the “hot” ticket due to Starfield’s amazing live dynamic and reasonable ticket price.
"Starfield has become Canada's biggest touring band, and it's exciting to see their audience grow so quickly now in the U.S.,” says Starfield’s manager Chris Nichols. “It's helpful to have a great show, but ultimately it's Starfield's partnership with the local church that's driving their growth."
The “Reign In Us” tour will make its way to major markets in both countries including Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Montreal, Calgary, and Toronto. The tour will focus on Starfield worship standards as well as other longtime fan favorites.
"It seems we're always trying to add new songs to the set list on these tours,” says Starfield’s Tim Neufeld. “It will be nice this time around to focus instead on an evening of worship where people can sing along and engage. And we know people are going to love Article One - they have great fans and will add a lot of energy to the evening."
An up-to-date tour itinerary follows this release. For more information on the “Reign In Us” tour, visit www.starfieldonline.com.

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Sept. 29, 2008—Sparrow
Records award-winning Canadian modern rock band Starfield brings its highly
successful “I Will Go” Tour to the U.S. this fall. The tour that has already
played successfully in Canada, the U.K. and Europe now marks Starfield’s first-ever
headlining slot in the U.S. The “I Will Go” Tour will feature new Sparrow
Records artist Above The Golden State as the opening act.
“We’ve taken this tour out in Canada twice, once with Shane
and Shane and a second time with Will Graham, the grandson of the great Billy
Graham. It will be great to finally bring this show to our friends in the
U.S.,” says guitarist Jon Neufeld. This will be the band’s second U.S. tour in

The “I Will Go” Tour centers around the title track of

of the night, people are left with a tug on their hearts to find new ways to
love and serve the world around them.”
Joining the tour is Starfield’s newest label mate, Above
The Golden State. Hailing from Portland, Ore., the band signed with Sparrow
Records earlier this year and released its self-titled label debut on July 22,
2008. In addition to garnering critical acclaim, the album’s first single,
“Sound of Your Name,” is on the verge of breaking into the Christian AC Top 10.

8/13/2008 - Starfield Connects With International Audiences
(NASHVILLE, Tenn.)
August 12, 2008 – Sparrow Records Dove Award-winning modern rock band Starfield
from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, has gained quite a following here in
the U.S. Even so, this year’s recipient of the Gospel Music Association’s
International Award takes its show overseas to share its music and message with
fans in Europe and the UK.
This month Starfield makes
appearances in the United Kingdom and Europe, taking part in seven festivals
including Flevo, Soul Survivor and Greenbelt. Starfield first performed for
fans in Sweden at the Frizon Festival and headlined a show in Biel,
Switzerland. Between performances at the UK’s Soul Survivor on August 13 and
18, the band will entertain audiences at Flevo in the Netherlands on August 14,
Revo Fest in Germany on August 15 and Fuel Festival in Belfast, Ireland August
16. Before returning to North America, Starfield plays main stage at the
Greenbelt Festival on August 22. In addition, the band is already confirmed to
headline Scotland's Frenzy Festival in June 2009.
Starfield also played the
Netherlands’ EO Youth Day in June. Says EO Youth Day Music Director Tim Dik, “I
was very excited that Starfield would be playing EO Youth Day 2008. I saw the
band several times in the U.S., and I knew immediately I had to invite them to
the Netherlands. I was convinced that their great live performance and powerful
worship songs would match perfectly with all the other things happening that
day. With 30,000 visitors, EO Youth Day is Europe’s largest Christian youth
event and is broadcast live on national television. It was an unforgettable
experience for all of us.”
The band’s busy summer came on
the heels of a spring tour in native Canada. The tour sold 18,000 tickets in
just 16 cities with the largest sold-out show in Toronto welcoming 2,000 fans.
Starfield will visit 12 Canadian cities again this September alongside Will
Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Returning to the States this
fall, Starfield will be joined by new Sparrow Records artist Above the Golden
State for a 35-city tour in October and November. Crisscrossing the country,
the tour will kick off in Sacramento, Calif., work its way to New York City and
finish in Seattle.

6/1/2006 - Starfield Hits #1 On iTunes Inspirational Chart
Canada’s award-winning rock/worship band Starfield recently hit #1 on the iTunes Inspirational chart with its second Sparrow Records album, BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN. The well-received set, released in May and led by first single “My Generation,” is selling especially well through digital service providers.
“Starfield is meeting its generation where they live: online,” says a Sparrow representative.
As “My Generation” breaks into the Top 20 on the Radio & Records Christian Rock airplay chart this week, reviews for BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN show the band’s significant growth as well.
Infuze Magazine says, “BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN is stunning from beginning to end. Clearly pointing the way to God not only through their lyrics, these guys also become worshipful simply in the way they rock. This is an album not to be missed.”
Favorably comparing it to Coldplay and Switchfoot, Knight Ridder Newspaper Service writes, “Starfield is learning from the best and is bound to keep developing its own unique sound . . . BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN is high-quality music with a relevant message.”
Singling out “My Generation,” ChristianMusicToday.com calls the song “a killer modern rocker about the world’s need for God that echoes the anthemic heights of Switchfoot’s ‘Meant To Live.’”
Hear BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN, look for concert dates in your area, and download Starfield ringtunes at www.StarfieldOnline.com.
