Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys has been a six-piece band since January 2005. The band recorded its South Plains EP in March 2005, just two and a half months after becoming a full band. The EP was released in mid-summer 2005. The only studio recording HHRB has, the South Plains EP captures the early days of the band, but as Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys continually matures and develops musically, another EP will be released spring/summer 2007, which will capture an up-to-date chapter in the band's career.
The band just released tour documentary DVD the Colder Nights of Texas, which documents the band's first tour. Along with the DVD package comes a live CD of some of the band's newer songs. You can order it on their myspace or purchase it at their shows.

"Homer Hiccolm & the Rocket Boys, the next band on the indoor stage, seemed like they might adopt the same formula...but luckily diverged some. This Abilene group just seemed to put a little more passion into their music, and when the end of the songs would swell into that proverbial wall of sound, it was more complete and didn't seem forced. Not to mention, Brandon Kinder, lead vocalist, has the kind of singing voice you can get lost in. Not exactly my taste in music, but I enjoyed them." - PegasusNews.com, March 2007
"Since forming in January 2005, Abilene's Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys have blasted into the hearts of audiences across Texas and the Midwest. With a unique style of soaring guitars and poetic lyrics, the six-member group continues to evolve and mature into a respected indie rock band. Look for a new EP this summer." -Bryan-College Station Eagle, March 2007
