While she's a little shy when you first meet her and the kind of person who's happier to simply blend into the background, Adie certainly wasn't afraid to rock as the frontwoman for The Benjamin Gate. With her spiky red hair, seemingly never-ending energy and the insatiable charisma that couldn't help but draw an audience in, Adie was one of Christian rock's most captivating performers.
Even though the group called it quits in 2003, Adie's passion for communicating her faith through music hasn't wavered, which is particularly remarkable these days when she's busier than ever as a wife and mother to two young daughters, Isabella and Arianne, who are both under the age of two. And if she wasn't ambitious enough, she's also recently opened a hip new clothing store in her small Indiana hometown.
Despite her hectic schedule, however, Adie couldn't shake the itch to make her first solo album, but kept it a secret initially. “After The Benjamin Gate broke up, I was so ready to move on, get married and just enjoy life with my husband,” Adie says. “So Jeremy and I never spoke about me making music. Then probably a year ago, it popped into my mind that ‘Wow, I'd like to do a solo album,' but I thought ‘I'm not going to say anything.'”
“Then a few days later Jeremy said out of the blue, ‘Honey, I think it would be really cool if you did a solo album,' and I thought ‘Are you kidding me?' because, of course, I was thinking the same thing.”
Shortly after their collective epiphany, Adie and Jeremy Camp, who've been married for nearly three years, began writing songs for her solo debut, Don't Wait . With their experiences as recording artists and the couple's innate ability to be honest with each other about what works and what doesn't stylistically, Adie says she couldn't have asked for a better working situation.
Ultimately, it's the couple's personal and professional camaraderie, along with Adie's expressive voice that makes Don't Wait such a unique and compelling offering. With a sound akin to singer/songwriter Butterfly Boucher and the more electronic pop approach of Frou Frou, Don't Wait is a seasoned, more introspective departure from Adie's more aggressive rock roots in The Benjamin Gate.
“The Benjamin Gate was all about pushing boundaries and being aggressive, basically no holding back,” Adie recalls. “But this album fits me so much better. It's been amazing to have this kind of freedom in making the project I really wanted to make, even though it's been scary stepping out on my own without the band guys.” Thematically speaking, Don't Wait 's just as multi-faceted as it tackles everything from maintaining an eternal perspective on life (“Don't Wait”), to relying on God—even in our weakest moments (“Sufficient), to a new understanding and appreciation of God's grace (“What Have I Done?).
“It has actually been nearly three years since I have written anything musically—so it has been a great time of waiting for me. I feel like my relationship with the Lord has become so much more solid, and I feel like I've grown a lot,” Adie confesses. “More than just enjoying music and singing, however, I wanted to use this opportunity to share what Jesus has done in my life and all the things he has shown me in His word. I always write from my walk with the Lord. If I think of all the things I could share with someone, a song to encourage them to draw closer to Jesus is what will last in eternity, and so that's what I want my songs to be about.”
In the process of making the album, Adie says she also felt a new resolve against spiritual complacency and a renewed desire to truly make every day count. “I've been a Christian for a long time, and it's easy to get into a comfortable routine,” Adie confesses. “In Revelation, it speaks about not losing your first love. And I think the Lord has really been challenging me not to just be faithful in taking time for devotions each day but to be a person who really desires to spend time with Jesus and not compromise.”
To get in the right frame of mind for her upcoming tour with Jeremy, Adie's been leading worship at a women's Bible study at her church, something that reminds her why she's on stage in the first place. “It helps me to regain focus as opposed to thinking of singing being a performance,” Adie adds. “It is really just an affirmation of music being a tool to worship the Lord.”
But even with that realization, Adie still can't help but feel a little nervous about playing in front of a crowd again. “Honestly, I'm petrified,” Adie confesses. “ I can't think about it too much because my palms start getting clammy. But I know it'll be fine when it all happens. Above all, I love being on the road, and I'm excited to be able to share a whole new chapter of things that have taken place—being married to a strong, godly husband, having two sweet little girls and everything the Lord has done in my life and all that he continues to do with the people I play for.”

7/26/2012 - Matthew West Readies New Studio Album, Into The Light, for September 25 Release
Two-time GRAMMY® nominee Matthew West is set to follow up his critically acclaimed 2010 album, The Story of Your Life, with the release of a collection of brand-new songs titled Into The Light on September 25, 2012. The new studio album, produced by Pete Kipley, features 12 tracks inspired by letters submitted by the thousands after West invited people to send him their stories. The songs making up this sixth studio project from West were written mostly while he was on tour this spring with Casting Crowns.
After receiving over 10,000 personal stories from all over the globe for his 2010 project, The Story of Your Life, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, who has been forever impacted by the outpouring of stories, felt as though there was even more for others to say during this season of his music. West collected stories for this new project through the end of March. The tracks comprising Into the Light were inspired by stories touching on everything from drug addiction, the rejection of apathy, abusive relationships and the faith we find in the waiting.
"There is power in a story," says West. "And we all have a story to tell. Over the last few years, I have had the honor of reading over 20,000 stories from people all over the world who have answered my invitation to share the story of their lives. The songs on Into the Light are inspired by these amazing, real-life stories. Each one has had a profound impact on my life, and I can't wait to share these stories and songs with the world. I believe the stories told on this record will challenge all who hear to discover the hope, healing and freedom that can only be found when we step out of the darkness and into the light."
The lead single from Into The Light, “Forgiveness,” is quickly gaining ground at radio, with it claiming the No. 10 spot on the National Audience Chart, No. 15 at Christian AC Monitored, No. 11 at AC Indicator and No. 24 at CHR this week. In addition to already charting in the Top 10 on the National Christian Audience chart, the single garnered over 5 million audience impressions this week. "Forgiveness" has been in the Top 10 on the iTunes® Christian & Gospel Songs chart since its release earlier this month.
West penned the powerful track after hearing the story of Renee Napier, whose 20-year-old daughter, Megan, was killed in a car wreck by a drunk driver, Eric Smallridge, over Mother’s Day weekend in 2001. Smallridge was convicted of DUI manslaughter and was sentenced to 22 years in prison. However, Napier has not only forgiven the man responsible for her daughter's death—she even thinks of him like a son. In fact, she actually petitioned the court, which agreed to cut Smallridge's 22-year sentence in half; he will be released from prison this fall. After hearing this story, West felt compelled to not only write a song inspired by Napier’s courageous and humbling act of forgiveness, but he also felt convicted to give her story a voice to reach those who may not have the chance to hear it otherwise. Thus, West’s song “Forgiveness” sets the stage for the 11 other gripping stories which are Into The Light.
The video for the story behind “Forgiveness” is one of the most-watched on the popular video site GodTube, totaling over 50,000 views within just a few days of posting. To view the video, visit GodTube's site here.
Earlier this year, West joined Casting Crowns on the nationwide “Come to the Well Tour,” which visited around 40 markets from February through May. West will hit the road again this fall for a headlining tour, beginning in Dallas on September 20. Joined by MIKESCHAIR, Lindsay McCaul and Everfound, “The Into The Light Tour” will visit major markets including Chicago, Denver and Tampa, among many others. 3/16/2012 - Christy Nockels Readies Sophomore Solo Project, Into the Glorious, For April 3rd Release
Following the critical acclaim of her first solo album, Life Light Up, celebrated songstress and worship leader Christy Nockels is poised to release her second solo album, Into the Glorious with sixstepsrecords. Christy’s stunning vocals are the centerpiece and focus of this new album, which will be released on April 3, 2012.
Produced by husband, Nathan Nockels (Chris Tomlin, Passion, Laura Story), the album’s pristine, understated production places the focus on Christy’s engaging, passionate voice and intuitive songwriting. Well-respected in the industry as a “singer’s singer,” she has a gift for imbuing each lyric with an authenticity and emotional integrity that resonates with the listener.
“He really took me deeper during this writing and recording process, and I’m just so grateful how He does that,” Christy says of God’s faithfulness. “He doesn’t leave us to our own devices. He loves us enough to take us deeper. I feel like that’s what happened during this record and the end result is something more special to my heart than I can ever remember a record being to me.”
Finding God in the midst of every moment is a central theme throughout Into the Glorious and is best exemplified in the title track. The album’s lead single, “Ever Lifting,” combines Christy’s unique writing style with a bit of a country twist that speaks of how God’s love continues to bless our lives and bring us closer to Him. Other album highlights include Christy’s rendition of the Judds classic “Love Can Build a Bridge,” as well as beautiful worship songs such as “For Your Splendor” and “Wonderful.”
Whether she’s leading worship at a women’s conference, singing praises in front of over 42,000 people at Passion or writing a worship song in her mini-van with her children in the backseat, Christy Nockels uses her gifts as a singer and songwriter to create music that connects believers with their loving Father.

7/26/2011 - The City Harmonic Embarks on First Co-Headline Tour, Readies for Oct 18 Release
The City Harmonic is about “getting people in on the act—hearts pounding and feet moving.” The band, consisting of front man Elias Dummer, bassist Eric Fusilier, guitarist Aaron Powell and drummer Josh Vanderlaan, joins Aaron Gillespie to co-headline the HELLOSOMEBODY Tour that launches Sept. 22 in Phoenix, AZ and hits 12 cities before wrapping up in Rockford, IL Oct. 16. Featuring special guest Ben Pirtle, founder of HELLOSOMEBODY (http://hello-somebody.com/), as well as Jake Hamilton (Sept. 21-30) and AJ Cheek (Oct. 1-16), the tour is being sponsored by HELLOSOMEBODY in an effort to continue feeding the hungry around the world (see full tour itinerary below).
With the band’s name partly derived from the sense that in communal worship we catch a fleeting glimpse of the world that we pine for, The City Harmonic isn’t as interested in finding fans as they are looking for participants in the journey.
“We want this tour to help people see their stories lining up with God’s story for them and the world. Worship ought to feel like that – some unveiling of something bigger than ourselves,” says The City Harmonic’s front man Elias Dummer. “If we can somehow spark in people a dream, something they just can’t shake, then that will inspire them to sing like every word matters, to live like every day matters, and having tasted heaven they’ll get on with helping this world feel more like home. This tour promises to be a creative night of worship, and all for a great cause.”
“This is a different night, it isn’t a concert, it isn’t a popularity contest. This night is about Jesus and worshipping Him out loud and for real,” shares Aaron Gillespie. “Bring everyone you know, we are being sponsored by HELLOSOMEBODY, and we are gonna be feeding needy kids through their incredible merchandise. Come hang!”
Almost immediately following the tour, The City Harmonic will release its first full-length album Oct. 18 (yet to be titled). Bucking the trend of many full-length recordings that follow EP debuts, The City Harmonic’s new album will be all new music. The band’s hit EP, Introducing The City Harmonic, that sparked the considerable radio hit, “Manifesto,” will remain a stand-alone offering. The new album will continue the journey of songs and stories that tell of hope, unity and seeking a greater kingdom.
With a new radio single from the upcoming album set to launch in late August, The City Harmonic’s “Manifesto,” continues to gather fans. Most recently garnering a recommendation from Chicago Bulls star player Klayton Korver on his twitter page, the song has also served as the theme music for a National Day of Prayer promotional campaign, been heard at Major League Baseball stadiums and spent many months on the Billboard National Audience chart. “Manifesto” has also sold over 71,000 digital singles so far, making it the 12th best selling digital single of 2011 on the SoundScan Top Current digital singles year-to-date chart, while more than 786,000 people have viewed the video at www.youtube.com/thecityharmonic.
Powerfully delivering the hit single on main stages across the US, The City Harmonic has inspired and unified thousands of festival goers to loudly respond to the pulse and message of the music. Having already been enthusiastically received at Ichthus Festival, Big Ticket Festival, Alive Festival, Sonshine Music Festival and Creation Northwest, the band’s upcoming events include Ignite Festival (July 29), Kingdom Bound (August 1), Soulfest (August 3-6) and others.

5/25/2011 - Burlap to Cashmere Readies for Self-Titled Release on Jive/Essential Records July 19
Stepping back into the spotlight after a decade away takes an unusually high degree of musical integrity. For folk-rock pioneer Burlap to Cashmere, a band that built a reputation for both exceptional studio projects and as an unyielding touring act in the late ‘90s, that integrity shines through on a new self-titled, 11-track project due July 19 on Jive/Essential Records.
Its initial single “ Build A Wall” goes for adds at AAA radio on June 26 while early fan and industry buzz reflecting acclaim for the band’s refined new sound, is building.
The Tennessean took note in a recent spotlight (5/13/11): “Brooklyn’s Burlap to Cashmere took its modern folk-rock to the masses in 1998 with its major-label debut, Anybody Out There? – and followed up that Dove Award-winning effort with a nearly decade-long hiatus. In the time the band has been away, a similar blend of worldly folk has made stars out of acts such as Mumford & Sons and Fleet Foxes. With its new self-titled album – set for a July 19 release on Jive/Essential Records – Burlap to Cashmere looks to reclaim that turf in top form, with an inspired blend of Mediterranean rhythms, rootsy textures and tight-knit harmonies, which lend the unmistakable air of folk-rock greats Simon & Garfunkel and Cat Stevens.”
With its core lineup intact – singer/guitarist/songwriter Steven Delopoulos, guitarist John Philippidis, and drummer Theodore Pagano — Burlap to Cashmere returns with renewed focus, drive and energy. “There’s something about family and people you’ve known forever that makes the chemistry happen,” Delopoulos says. “There’s a sense of honesty and trust. That’s Burlap
to Cashmere.”
On its first album in more than a decade, Burlap to Cashmere draws from all the influences that made it a touchstone band: Mediterranean and Greek rhythms, flamenco and classic American folk, to create a rich body of work that embraces the past while crystallizing its new creative vision.
For the last ten years, a Burlap to Cashmere reunion seemed like wishful thinking. After garnering awards, a dedicated following, and credentials earned non-stop touring alongside some of the biggest names in music, the band was exhausted and went on an indefinite hiatus.
In 2005, tragedy struck when guitarist John Philippidis was beaten and left for dead after a road rage incident near his home in Brooklyn. An extended hospital visit, which included a full month in a coma and radical facial reconstructive surgery, ultimately sparked a band reunion.
In 2010, Burlap to Cashmere headed into the studio with acclaimed producer Mitchell Froom (Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow, Tom Waits) to begin work on new material. His rules were simple: “There would be no nudging and no Auto-Tuning. We’re going into this to capture everything that’s organic about the band.”
“For me, Burlap to Cashmere is a classic band in the best sense of the word. From the great songwriting and singing, to the deep and accomplished musicianship, they are absolutely a distinctive band,” shares Froom. “This is particularly apparent in the songs that incorporate their unique approach to traditional Greek rhythms. All you have to do is listen once to ‘Don't Forget To Write’, and it's abundantly clear - you've never heard anything quite like it. We also set out to make a record that put musical feeling and performance at a premium - live singing and playing, no click tracks, etc. Developing this kind of hybrid sound in the studio was a big challenge for everyone involved, but ultimately, what else do you hope for?"
Recalling the musical intimacy of Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel, coupled with Delopoulos’ introspective and poetic songwriting, the album announces Burlap to Cashmere’s triumphant return in a record that will surprise longtime fans and intrigue the uninitiated.
Fans of modern troubadour outfits like the Avett Brothers and Mumford and Sons will find common ground with Burlap To Cashmere’s output, with the added textures of the Greek and Mediterranean influences further fleshing out the band’s unique take on 21st century folk-rock music.
Burlap to Cashmere recently unveiled its new body of work to a sold-out crowd at New York’s “Le Poisson Rouge." As part of a promotional tour leading up to the July 19 album launch, the band is making media, retail and radio visits including the 2011 Pandora Radio Summit (May 4) in New York City and a performance May 15 in Nashville as part of the Lightning 100 live concert series “Nashville Sunday Night” which broadcasts live from the legendary 3rd & Lindsley. The band returns to New York for a May 25 show at Rockwood Music Hall’s “Stage 2” followed by a West Coast run that includes two nights at Hollywood’s Hotel Café.
