Worship leader/songwriter Dustin Smith announces the release of his new live worship album You Are The Fire - Live from Kansas City which is now available world wide on iTunes. Positioned as a leader of today’s worship revolution, Smith’s new album takes listeners inside his home church, World Revival Church in Kansas City, MO where he is worship leader. It is his hope that it will stir churches around the world to worship “on earth as it is in heaven.”
Produced by Michael Farren (Pocket Full of Rocks) and Kyle Lee (Michael W. Smith) You Are The Fire features some of the biggest names in worship music today: Stu G (delirious) on electric guitar, Carl Albrecht (Paul Baloche) on drums, Jacob Lowery (Michael W. Smith) on bass, Joshua Brown (King and Country) on keys and Jennifer Balser on vocals. With six albums under his belt in collaboration with his church, You Are The Fire is Smith’s ?rst live album as a solo effort. You Are The Fire features 14 original songs written by Smith and other noted writers such as Jennie Riddle, Michael Farren, Kyle lee, Chad Cates and Tony Wood.
Upon his review of You Are The Fire, Matthew Reams with All About Worship said "this is an amazing album", when referring to the title song You Are The Fire he commented that "This is one of my favorite songs I have heard in a long time. It is perfect for a congregation. It is fast and loud, but can be played by the smallest of teams with the least instruments. The lyrics are singable and relatable. It is a song that definitely should be in your services".
"A worshipful masterpiece full of raw passionate, vertical cries that dives deeper than the majority of modern worship today." declares NRT (New Release Tuesday)
Smith's passion has always been for the church to have songs that did not just talk about a hope someday but to talk about the hope we have in Christ now. In 2005 Smith took over the position of worship leader for World Revival Church. Smith has taken great lengths to reveal what Biblical worship actually is and restoring the honor of God by removing the focus of individual worship to a corporate setting. Smith offers his insight and wisdom as a leader that demonstrates his heart-felt worship. He believes that a new attitude towards God is being birthed for this generation.
