“Trying to describe the Eternal using earthly words is like trying to scoop up the whole ocean into the palm of your hand. It’s like trying to count every star in the endless midnight sky. All of our words fall so short; every melody failing to capture the true beauty of the Heavenly.” So says Vicky Beeching, a fourth generation worship leader, music prodigy and Oxford-educated songwriter.
“When we write songs about God,” Vicky says, “though we see him in everything he has made, to some degree we are flying blind. With our limited human resources we are struggling to find ways to express something that is heavenly…that is Other. Yet because it is our passion, we can’t remain silent. So we search for words and melodies to describe Him. Hunting and rummaging into every corner of language and expression, raiding the closet of linguistics for a suitable outfit to clothe our feelings in words…we are describing the indescribable. We are ‘painting the invisible.’”
As part of this worshipful quest, Vicky delivers her second full-length studio album, entitled
Painting the Invisible. The brushstrokes are laden with theologically rich lyrics and blended with deep shades and colors of emotion.
Produced by Ed Cash (Nichole Nordeman, Chris Tomlin) and Nathan Nockels (Matt Redman, Downhere), with songwriting collaboration from Cash, Matthew West and Joy Williams, Painting the Invisible finds Vicky rediscovering her love for the warmth of the piano. In fact, several of the songs for the new album were written on Keith Green’s old piano, at the invitation of her mentor and friend, Melody Green.
It was there, at Keith’s old piano, where Vicky wrote “Join The Song,” a joyful, modern version of the ancient liturgy known as “The Doxology.” Vicky remembers the birth of this song, “Seated at Keith’s piano, I felt a powerful awareness that the man who played these keys years ago, now is lifting his voice in the eternal song of worship in heaven. Sometimes eternity feels far away, but in that moment it seemed like just a breath away…so close I could almost reach out and touch it.”
Other songs touch on the theme of heaven and eternity. “Suddenly,” a majestic string-laden track describing the second coming of Christ, “Forever More,” an upbeat celebration of our unending relationship with God and, “Hallelujah What A Savior,” a worshipful anthem with some unusual chords and a lyric describing Jesus stepping out of eternity and into time to save us.
Worship, though vertical, need not be impersonal. Vicky attests this in the album’s closing track, “Twenty Six Summers,” a powerful, personal testimony of her lifelong walk with Jesus:
“Through 26 summers and 26 winters, I’ve laughed in the springtime, cried in the rain.
Though I’ve questioned the meaning of some of life’s seasons,
It’s true they’ve left me holding on tighter to you”
Alongside the emotion and honesty of the songs included on Beeching’s sophomore release, is an unusual depth of insight, also seen in “Everlasting Arms” a ballad about our need to be embraced into God’s perfect love.
Holding a Bachelor and Masters degree in Theology from Oxford University, Vicky has spent long years digging into God’s word. This foundation shines through in her lyrics and gives her maturity beyond her years. Raised in a charismatic and Pentecostal church background, she holds a dual passion for “Spirit and Truth" - the Bible and the Holy Spirit working together in harmony. She is a unique mixture. An Oxford educated, spirit filled Brit – perhaps best described in the words of Gordon Fee as “a scholar on fire”.
But for Vicky, recording an album is just the tip of the iceberg of what it means to be a worshipper and worship leader. She holds a strong belief that our offering must be far more than songs. That God calls us to live a lifestyle of worship. Quoting passages from Isaiah, Amos and Malachi, Vicky describes that God is looking for the kind of worship that is practical as well as musical. “He asks us to reach out to the poor, the needy and the broken - this must be the overflow of our times of singing. It’s time for us to put our lyrics into motion, our intentions into application – our worship into action.”
This mission-focused heart is part of Vicky’s inherited DNA, passed down to her by her missionary grandparents who spent the better part of their lives sharing the gospel in Israel and Zimbabwe, Africa. Stories of their missionary adventures of salvations, healings and miraculous interventions where God kept them from danger and death captured Vicky’s imagination as a child. But more importantly, their impact taught her the importance of living everyday for the Kingdom of God.
For two and a half weeks in the summer of 2006, Vicky traveled to Lima, Peru, with Compassion International, to spend time among Compassion International’s many projects in that country. What she experienced there deepened her commitment that worship is inextricably linked to mission, justice and social action. Inspired her ministry experiences in South America and her family legacy of missions, Vicky has launched worshipinaction.org, a web-based organization encouraging a generation to live out their praise in practical ways.
Over the past few years this quest has led her into prisons, nightclubs refuge homes for abused women, and low-income churches that could not afford to bring in paid musicians. “The worship God delights in is when we reach out,” Beeching says. “It’s not enough to just sing about something. It has to get practical. Lets move beyond our church walls, beyond our comfort zones, and see what God will do,” she elaborates.
With just one listen, Christian music fans will love the beautiful piano melodies and musical hooks on Painting the Invisible. Worship leaders will be drawn in by its substance and singability, and listeners will find its joy and vulnerability compelling. The songs are the powerful overflow of a ‘scholar on fire,’ living with one eye fixed on eternity and the other on poverty and injustice, and is one of those rare projects that reveals an artist coming into her own spiritually…emotionally…in every way.

4/6/2010 - Vicky Beeching's Eternity Invades Today
Vicky Beeching releases her Integrity Music debut, Eternity Invades, today.
"Today is a day I’ve been waiting for with great excitement for ages! My new album “Eternity Invades” released this morning!" announced Beeching on her website (www.vickybeeching.com).
Eternity Invades re-introduces Beeching as one of today's most gifted female worship leaders, and her new music is a testament to her credentials as both a thoughtful theologian and accomplished musician and songwriter. Eternity Invades offers 13 new worship songs that will have as much power being sung by intimate chapel gatherings, mega-church congregations or by just a single man or woman yearning to draw heaven into earth.
Beeching spent the week before her CD release visiting radio stations across the country to promote "Salvation Day," the first single from Eternity Invades.
Eternity Invades was produced by upcoming new producer Jonathan MacIntosh (a former guitarist for Tim Hughes, Brenton Brown, Kevin Max and more). Beeching wrote all of the songs on the record, including collaborations with Robin Mark, Steve Fee and others.
Beeching was raised in the UK by parents in church ministry and grandparents who served as missionaries in Africa and Israel. She began writing songs when she was just 11, and later, was inspired to prepare for her calling into music by pursuing a theology degree at Oxford University, one of Britain's most prestigious schools.
In the UK, Vicky partnered with Vineyard Music (where she worked with Integrity labelmate Brian Doerkson), writing and performing songs on the Hungry, Holy, Surrender and Best of Vineyard projects. She also worked on staff at Soul Survivor in London, contributing to their People's Album and Live Worship 2005. During these years she led worship alongside Matt Redman, Tim Hughes and Brenton Brown.
Beeching felt God calling her Stateside and obediently moved to the U.S. in 2004. Two critically acclaimed CDs later (2005's Yesterday Today and Forever and 2007's Painting The Invisible), she has led worship in almost all 50 States, as well as coast to coast across Canada and throughout Europe.
Beeching has an active blog on her website www.vickybeeching.com with photos and behind-the-scenes posts from the recording studio and on the road. Beeching's Twitter address is www.twitter.com/vickybeeching.

Eternity Invades is worth the wait. The CD re-introduces Beeching as one of today's most gifted female worship leaders, and her new music is a testament to her credentials as both a thoughtful theologian and accomplished musician and songwriter. With Eternity Invades, Beeching offers 13 new worship songs that will have as much power being sung by intimate chapel gatherings, mega-church congregations or by just a single man or woman yearning to draw heaven into earth.

"For me, the title sums up the record," said Beeching. "It's about raising our expectation of what can happen in the context of worship - reminding us that it's a supernatural encounter and that God's Kingdom can break in - eternity can invade, if we are seeking and wanting that."
Accordingly, Beeching wanted the record to sound as big as the concept, and cites groups U2 and Coldplay as sonic touchstones. "I wanted to create something that sounds like me and my band do in a live setting," she said. "I wanted to make music that is fresh and edgy, while still being very congregational and church friendly."
The full track listing for Eternity Invades is:
1. "Salvation Day"
2. "Blessing and Honor"
3. "Deliverer"
4. "Breath of God"
5. "Inhabit the Praise"
6. "Glory to God Forever"
7. "One Day"
8. "Break Our Hearts"
9. "Emmanuel"
10. "Refuge"
11. "Listening"
12. "Undivided Heart"
13. Bonus Track – a new recording of “The Wonder of the Cross"
The album's first single is "Salvation Day," and it is already gaining momentum at radio. Beeching will spend the week before street date, visiting radio to talk about the song and the full CD project. She also has a full slate of shows and worship events she will be participating in throughout the spring and summer.
Beeching has embraced social media with a highly active presence online through her personal Blog, Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo and other networking sites. A few weeks ago she launched her newest online venture, the Women In Worship Network: www.womeninworshipnetwork.com. Beeching hosts this new community, where she offers encouragement to female worship leaders, and the opportunity for them to connect with one another via a mini social network and forums. The site had over 2,000 visits on its first day and has over 200 active members of the network’s member
Equally important to women in ministry is Beeching's role as an advocate for social justice and she has involved herself with organizations like Hope for Justice, Compassion International and The International Justice Mission.
"Justice is a huge ethereal reality, but God breaks it down into bite-sized chunks in passages like Isaiah 51. It's about opening your eyes when someone is suffering, not turning away. If everybody did that, we really could change the world," she said.
The 30-year-old Beeching was raised in the UK by parents in church ministry and grandparents who served as missionaries in Africa and Israel. 1/28/2010 - Vicky Beeching Releases Limited Edition EP ON February 9th
Worship leader Vicky Beeching will offer a sneak peak at her first album for Integrity Music when she releases a three-song digital EP on Feb. 9. The full-length CD, Eternity Invades, will be released on April 6.
The EP includes new songs “Salvation Day,” which is also her first radio single, “Blessing and Honor” and “Deliverer.” Chord charts for all three songs are part of the EP package. Beeching’s EP will be available at major DSPs including iTunes, Amazon.com, Napster and Rhapsody as well as at IntegrityMusic.com.
Beeching says her new album will be a “mix of energetic band songs, beautiful strings, and intimate piano moments. My goal for the album is that people will be stirred to worship as they listen and that the songs will be a resource for churches to use corporately.”
The British-born and Oxford-educated Beeching recorded the album in her U.S. hometown of San Diego, working with upcoming producer Jonathan MacIntosh (a former guitarist for Tim Hughes, Brenton Brown, Kevin Max and more). Beeching was very involved in the creative process, from laying the scratch tracks on “studio day 1,” to the final mixing and mastering tweaks. She has brought the arrangement and instrumentation skills she is known for in her live context to the studio, showing her potential production credentials for the future.
Eternity Invades will include 12 new songs all written by Beeching, including “Glory to God Forever,” which she co-wrote with Steve Fee and was a radio hit from Fee’s INO Records album Hope Rising. Beeching’s deep involvement in social justice is reflected in her new song “Break Our Hearts” – a prayer that God would impart to us His heart for those in need.
Also expect appearances on the record from Stu G (from delirious), Leeland, Phil Wickham, Drew Shirley (Switchfoot) and others. Beeching “Tweeted” recently describing the upcoming CD, “I've never made an album I've loved this much.”
Prior to being signed by Integrity Music, 30-year-old Beeching had already built up serious worship and recording credentials. In the UK, Beeching partnered with Vineyard Music (where she worked with Integrity labelmate Brian Doerksen), writing songs on the Hungry, Holy, Surrender and Best of Vineyard projects. 1/11/2008 - Worship Artist Vicky Beeching Honored in UK for Latest Album "Painting the Invisible"
(Nashville, Tennessee)--January 10, 2008 EMI/Sparrow worship artist Vicky Beeching was recently honored in the UK’s Christian Broadcasting Council Media Awards, in the ‘Best Worship Album 2007” category for the success of her latest album release, “Painting The Invisible.”
Presenting the award to her in London over the holidays was Les Moir of U.K. based Survivor Records.
Now living in the U.S., the British born artist's current radio single, Great Is the Glory, from her award winning album, is now rising on the Inspo charts nationally.
Notes Vicky about the single:
"Some songs have a special place in the heart of the singer, and for me “Great Is the Glory” is one of those. I look forward to it in my concert set list, and find myself asking God each night I sing it for a fresh glimpse of His glory. The verses of “Great Is the Glory” simply tell the gospel story – God coming to earth, dying, rising again. The basic truths that our whole lives are built upon. It’s my prayer that as we hear and sing those verses, we would remember the wonder of the gospel again. That God would shine thorough those simple lyrics, revealing Himself and leaving us responding “great is your glory Lord!”
