Cool Hand Luke has been Mark Nicks passion since 1998. Since their humble punk rock beginnings in Murfreesboro, TN, CHL has always had a way of knack for making music that is often deemed thought provoking and pensive, while still packing a musical punch.
In 2002, CHL signed to Floodgate Records and released their critically acclaimed debut Wake Up, O Sleeper followed by their 2004 release The Fires of Life. Known for their atmospheric expression of their spiritual journey, Cool Hand Luke's honest approach to music has caught an appreciative ear with even the most cynical of listener. The band played nearly 150 headlining shows in support of each album, building a large fan base before taking much needed time off to pursue other ventures.
For much the past year, Cool Hand Luke's principle singer/songwriter Mark has been touring the country, sharing the story of the Invisible Children of Uganda. Its a social injustice that cannot be overlooked any more, so Mark took a step back from the band to get involved first hand. If you are not familiar with the story please watch the trailer at www.invisiblechildren.com.
For 2006, Cool Hand Luke has been focused on reforming, touring, and writing. With a street release date for January 23rd, we plan to release a retrospective record, compiled from the 8 years of music the band has passionately released both independently and with Floodgate Records.
