SEATTLE, WA…February 5, 2008…BEC Recordings’ singer/songwriter Jadon Lavik is thrilled to share his forthcoming collection of classic hymns on the February 26th release, “Roots Run Deep.” This project follows two critically acclaimed studio projects and multiple AC/Inspo radio hits.
“I love old hymns,” shares the 29-year-old San Clemente, California based worship leader. “I wanted to do this project because I have such a deep reverence for the songs. I hope people dig it. It’s not super polished or overly produced, but it’s really raw, acoustic and real.”
“Roots Run Deep” features a compilation of familiar classics such as the radio debut AC and Inspo single “Come Thou Fount,” which is already a New and Active at AC Monitored and Inspo. Other songs included are “I Need Thee Every Hour,” “Amazing Grace,” “Blessed Assurance” and seven other traditional favorites (track listing below).
This collection was self-produced and arranged by Lavik providing a true representation of who he is. Lavik grew up in a traditional church in the state of Washington where he gained an appreciation for hymns.
“All the arrangements are unique, and some of them don’t sound much like the originals,” explains Lavik. “Most of the songs have just acoustic guitar, piano and vocal with a couple of songs having bass and a cello or a shaker here and there.”
Hoping “Roots Run Deep” will resonate with his faithful fans and new listeners; Lavik wants everyone to embrace the organic and intimate worshipfulness of the project appreciating the foundation of worship music.
BEC Recordings artist Jadon Lavik is poised to release his sophomore album, titled Life On The Inside, this coming March 7th.
Life On The Inside is a much-anticipated follow up to his debut Moving On Faith, which released June 15th, 2005. With 12 songs all written by Lavik, Life On The Inside hails the production team of Adam Watts and Andy Dodd (Jeremy Camp, Zoegirl, The OC Supertones), as well as Steve Hindalong (Jeremy Camp, Caedmon’s Call) and Marc Byrd (Jeremy Camp, Day Of Fire). The album will also include radio hit single “What If” from his debut release.
"Life on the Inside is my take on Christian struggles and the Christian walk," says Lavik. "These songs are about aligning my day-to-day life the way it should be and relaying that message to listeners. To me it would be a success if there was an authentic connection between myself and the listeners with regards to personal struggles on living a Godly life and the mind shift that's required living in this world. This album is my attempt at an honest look at what is going on inside us, not just on the outside."
On the tour front, Lavik will join Rebecca St. James and Barlow Girl on a 40-plus city tour on February 2nd through April 1st.
Lavik has hailed the attention of the music industry and fans alike. The PDA Advisor recently named him one of three artists in their 2005 “New Artist Of The Year” list, as well as “What If” landing the #12 most played song of the year spot. The song also merited the #10 spot on the PDA Advisor’s AC year-end chart and the #6 spot on the INSP year-end chart. The song “Let It Go” , also from his debut album, was used in the big screen movie “The Perfect Man” starring Heather Locklear and Hillary Duff.
