He already has three studio records under his belt. His fourth, titled Undisguised, is set to release January 26th. And just this holiday season he added What Christmas Means, his first ever 10-song Christmas recording, to the mix. Now, Anthony Evans is headlining his own Christmas tour to promote the release with his 12-city "What Christmas Means Tour," hitting churches across the nation. Even better is that Evans is already in front of sell-out crowds. The tour's first show, which kicked off last night in Florida, filled up the 900-seat church!
"Having my very own Christmas tour gives me the opportunity to say thanks and to continue to cultivate relationships with churches who have been continually supportive to my ministry over the years," explains Evans. "I'm thrilled to be able to offer audiences different versions of some old and new Christmas music, as well as offer a unique concert experience each night."
The CD What Christmas Means, co-produced by Evans and Brandon Hood, released October 6th and offers a unique twist to timeless holiday classics such as "Little Drummer Boy," "O Holy Night," and "Do You Hear What I Hear," along with the original song "Immanuel," penned by Chad Cates and Tony Wood. Evans also covers contemporary tunes of today such as "This Christmas" and Grown Up Christmas List." This collection offers holiday joy like most seasonal projects, yet with Evans' vocals and unique touch, each song is tied to his own family holiday memories along with his signature penchant for looking deeper.
Helping to promote the project and the tour, Evans has appeared on outlets such as Life Today, DayStar, TBN, and Moody Broadcasting. In addition, a music video was filmed for the CD's first radio release, "Immanuel," which is already in rotation on Gospel Music Channel and will be featured on the homepage of www.NewReleaseTuesday.com this week. (July 15, 2008 – Nashville, TN) — On the heels of Anthony Evans’ third studio project, The Bridge (EMI Gospel), just released June 10th, Evans is celebrating a few number ones in his career as well as amazing reviews from fans, new and old, and media.
NUMBER ONES
*The Bridge found itself as the #1 top downloaded CD on iTunes Christian & Gospel page during street week. In fact, at the date of this news release, the CD is still featured on its homepage, showing that iTunes users from all over have been impacted by the musical talents of Anthony Evans and the songs of The Bridge, writing such comments as:
“This is undoubtedly one of the best worship albums I have ever heard. Evans’ voice is flawless and the arrangements…refreshing!”
“Anthony Evans’ music is anointed! If you don’t have his first two albums I encourage you to get them. They will be a blessing in your life like they’ve been to mine. Praise God for the life of Anthony Evans!”
“WOW! If only there was another word to describe Anthony’s voice. It [The Bridge] showed the worship music that I do not hear in most of Christian music now. Buy the CD, you won’t be sorry!”
*Also at the top is Evans’ music video for “Meaningless,” which took the #1 spot on Gospel Music Channel’s Soul charts this past May, staying there for a solid five weeks. In addition, his video for “Letting Go” was #1 for four weeks on GMC’s Soul charts just two years ago, eventually becoming their overall #1 song!
The Bridge was produced by Evans and Nathan Nockels and continues to showcase that Anthony Evans is like no other. With recent appearances on FamilyNet’s “EveryDay With Marcus & Lisa,” Gospel Music Channel’s “The Kitchen Sink” and GMC’s Insider News, as well as Life Outreach International’s “Life Today,” Evans is continuing to impact people everywhere.
The media continues to post amazing reviews as well:
“Evans brings emotion and vulnerability, a great addition to songs that have the danger of becoming routine. His voice and instrumentals read like an open book. If you have not fallen for this man's heart for worship yet, you will with this album.” – Worship Leader
“…he [Evans] and his backup vocalists are as soulful as ever…Evans doesn’t always settle for the obvious.” –Andree Farias for CMCentral.com
“…The Bridge is a homerun. Evans breathes new life into these standards with soulful vocals and tasteful arrangements.” –Christian Retailing
“’Blessed Be Your Name’ is particularly fresh…The Bridge is a vocally strong, worshipful album.” – CBA Retailers+Resources
Anthony Evans released his third studio project, THE BRIDGE, earlier this week on June 10th. Produced by Evans and Nathan Nockels and the first time to partner with EMI Gospel, THE BRIDGE continues to showcase that Anthony Evans is certainly like no other. His unique soulful voice is well-displayed in this worship-based project, encompassing well-known worship songs (“Here I Am To Worship,” “Blessed Be Your Name,”), with his own penned tunes (“The Way You Love Me,” “Meaningless”). The first radio single, “Glory To The King,” has been impacting CCM and Gospel radio since April.
THE BRIDGE, following his first two projects, Even More (2004) and Letting Go (2005), was birthed from Evans’ struggle between the crossroads in his spiritual life. “This record came out of pain,” he explains. “When I got to the end of myself and surrendered to the concept of what I was created to do, I realized I wasn’t made to figure it all out. I wasn’t put here to see the big picture clearly, or to glimpse what is ahead. I was created to worship.”
Averaging 100 dates each year, primarily at churches, Evans is continuing to tour across the country promoting THE BRIDGE. Upcoming tour stops include: Amarillo, TX (6/14), San Angelo, TX (6/15), Upper Marlboro, MD (6/22), Jackson, TN (6/26), KLTY’s Celebrate Freedom in Frisco, TX (6/28), North Port, FL (7/5), Durham, NC (7/9), Aliso Viejo, CA (9/12-13), and many more throughout the summer and fall.
In addition to his numerous live performances, Evans is confirmed to appear in the coming weeks on such popular programs as FamilyNet’s “Every Day With Marcus & Lisa,” Life Outreach International’s “Life Today,” and Gospel Music Channel’s “The Kitchen Sink.”
Nashville, TN – May 10, 2006 – Following a successful rally in Houston, INO Recording Artist, Anthony Evans, along with his father Dr. Tony Evans, is set to rally once again in Washington, D.C. on May 15th, for the “National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative.” Endorsed by President George W. Bush, Dr. Evans created this initiative in hopes to rebuild communities by bringing together two key institutions, churches and schools.
Evans and Dr. Evans wrapped up their first rally in Houston on April 24th, and were overwhelmed with all the support backing this program: “Traveling with my father, my hero, is an honor,” remarked Evans. “I couldn't ask for a better scenario - it's amazing. The Houston rally was great, so I can't wait to once again be a part of what he is doing when we come to Washington D.C.” Evans also entertained the crowd with songs from his latest CD, Letting Go.
Starting over ten years ago, the “National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative” program developed when a high school principal contacted Dr. Evans, the senior pastor at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas, because the principal’s school had trouble with gangs and other disruptive behavior. “Project Turn?Around,” the social outreach program of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, sent some of their supporters to walk the halls of that school and order was soon restored. Today, now more than 65 schools participate in the Dallas-area program and President Bush has encouraged Dr. Evans to spread it around the country.
In addition to the rallies, Evans will join 21 other leading Christian artists to record the entirety of “The Message Remix Complete Audio Bible” by Eugene H. Peterson. Evans will be reading part of the Old Testament, while other artists participating include: Steven Curtis Chapman, Rebecca St. James, tobyMac, Steve Mason from Jars of Clay and more. The scheduled release date for “The Message Remix Complete Audio Bible” will be July 2006.
Currently wrapping up a tour with David Phelps, Evans will keep busy this summer singing the National Anthem at a Texas Rangers game on June 21st, performing on Daystar Television as well as Good Morning Texas, and making various appearance with Dr. Evans; all following recent perormances on FamilyNet’s “At Home Live!” and Crystal Cathedral’s “Hour of Power.”
Nashville, TN - April 17, 2006 – INO Records’ singer/songwriter Anthony Evans is set to join his father, Dr. Tony Evans, at a radio rally supporting the “National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative” training program. The rally will be held at First Baptist Church of Houston at 7:30 p.m. on April 24th and is open to the public. Anthony will perform at the event and Dr. Evans is the main speaker.
The “National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative,” created by Dr. Evans and endorsed by President George W. Bush, is modeled after a program that has been a resounding success in the Dallas area. It is an innovative way to rebuild communities through two key institutions – churches and schools. The radio rally with the Evans’ will follow the first day of training for the program.
The April 24th rally is a kick off for the National Church Adopt-A-School training program in Houston, and the Evans’ are excited to be on hand to lend their support and talents. Another rally is already scheduled for May 15th, to be held in Washington, D.C. Anthony will perform for the attendees songs from his just-released CD, Letting Go.
With his sophomore project with INO Records, Letting Go, just released in March, numerous reviews have been pouring in. Here are a just a handful of the amazing comments:
“He maintains the strong, soulful vocals that make him recognizable, but with a musical diversity that may earn him a wider audience….Lyrically, Evans grapples with the tough places in which we live our faith, choosing as his topics God’s unyielding love for us and how we return that love with our lives. Letting Go is an excellent project from an emerging artist.” -Christian Music Planet Magazine
“’I Choose Now’ is a mid-tempo acoustic cut he uses to sing of choosing to worship God without waiting until a tragedy strikes. This corner won’t be surprised if it snaps up ‘Song of the Year’ at the GMA’s 2007…Take a chance on this one.” -GospelFlava.com
“There is no questioning Evans’ vocal talent, or this album’s production and honest message.” - JesusFreakHideout.com
““Anthony Evans’ strong suit has always been his smooth, powerful vocals, and they are certainly showcased on his sophomore album.” – CBNmusic.com
