Real Life, the seventh solo recording from Integrity/Columbia Music singer/songwriter and worship leader Lincoln Brewster, debuted at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan's Praise & Worship Albums chart and at #3 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart, following its September 28 release. Landing at #61 on the Billboard 200, which reflects the top-selling albums across all genres, Real Life is Brewster’s most personal project to date and is garnering widespread critical acclaim.
Giving the album four stars, ChristianityToday.com says, “Brewster pumps up the guitar solos and sings about God meeting us in the daily grind of life on his fantastic seventh release.”
“Undoubtedly you’re going to want to add many of these songs to your worship repertoire as well as just listen to for your own enjoyment,” Worship Musician magazine says of Real Life.
ChristianMusicReview.org states, “The lyrics, music, and the heart capture real life splendidly…an enjoyable worship experience.”
Produced by Brewster, he also co-penned nine of the project’s 10 selections, including the debut single, “Reaching For You.” Featuring contributions from such award-winning writers as Paul Baloche, Jason Ingram and Mia Fieldes, among others, highlights of the album include the title-cut; the guitar-driven opener “Best Days”; “Whom Shall I Fear,” featuring Kari Jobe; the autobiographical “Made For More”; and the worshipful piano ballad “More Than Amazing.”

MOBILE, Ala.— "Power Of Your Name," from Integrity/Columbia Music recording artist Lincoln Brewster, has reached #1 on this week’s Billboard Soft AC/Inspirational National Airplay chart. Written by Brewster and Hillsong Music’s Mia Fieldes, “Power Of Your Name” features Darlene Zschech and is the fourth single from Brewster’s 2008’s acclaimed release, Today Is The Day.
“It’s a common theme that’s moving throughout the Body of Christ as we see people in the Church really take a stand and do more to deal with social injustice around the world,” Brewster says. “This song is all about life; every life God has made has significant value, and God has a plan for each and every person He has ever created. It’s my family’s prayer—and I know it’s also Mia’s prayer—that this song would motivate and challenge us all to do something outside the four walls of the Church, beyond our comfort zone.”
With six solo albums to his credit, Brewster is a Dove Award-nominated worship leader, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. His additional radio hits include the #1 single “Everlasting God,” as well as the Top 10 songs “Today Is The Day” and “Salvation Is Here.” Brewster currently serves as Worship Arts Pastor at Bayside Church near Sacramento, California, and is the creator of 1on1, a guitar training DVD series for worship bands.
Real Life, Brewster’s seventh solo recording, is slated to bow September 28. Produced by Brewster, he also co-penned nine of the project’s 10 selections. The album's first single, “Reaching For You,” will go for AC and CHR adds beginning September 10. In addition to the title track, Brewster will perform “Reaching For You,” which he co-wrote with fellow Integrity artist and Dove Award-winning songwriter Paul Baloche, at the Christian Music Broadcasters’ “Momentum” conference in Orlando on September 11.

“I’m really proud of this group of songs,” says Brewster. “It’s definitely the most transparent project I’ve ever done, combining elements of worship and real life experiences. A lot of my vulnerability about life—from hard times growing up in Alaska to the responsibility of being a husband and father now—came through as we were writing.”

Integrity Music will re-issue Today is the Day in special packaging with a bonus DVD that includes music videos and song stories. The CD of course, features the 10 tracks from the original release, which includes the No. 1 song “God You Reign” and the soon-to-be radio hit “Salvation is Here.”

When Today is the Day released in 2008, it was among the most favorably reviewed CDs of the year. ChristianityToday.com named it as one of its Best Worship Albums of 2008; while Billboard called the effort “lyrically compelling and musically engaging.” Soul-Audio.com even declared Brewster “the king of modern rock ‘n roll worship music.”
In describing Today is the Day, Brewster has said, “Before I make a record, I ask myself, ‘What's the goal? What do we hope people will take away after listening to it?’ The goal behind this album was a desire to encourage people and to energize them. I wanted to make a CD that reminds us ‘Today is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.’ And that ‘Everywhere I go Your love surrounds me,’ and ‘God, You do reign.’"
Brewster continued, "I think these are things we need to be reminded of every day. So for me, it's a call to action to be encouraged, be uplifted, step outside the walls of the church, and let God's glory shine through you.”
“Salvation is Here” will be going for adds at radio beginning Aug. 31. Brewster will support both the single and the new Deluxe Edition CD/DVD with a series of “Brown Bag” lunch concerts with several Salem “Fish” radio stations.
