Seabird is partnering with the charitable organization, Mocha Club, for their upcoming “Over the Hills and Everywhere Tour” with Ben Rector. The tour will launch in early Dec. and wrap towards the middle of the month, a complete tour schedule is listed below.
Mocha Club is about connecting your community with their community in Africa by giving up $7 a month, the cost of 2 mochas. Specifically, Seabird’s partnership will assist in the education efforts of the Mocha Club established in schools in Africa such as Emmanuel Vo-Tech School in Kenya, Learn to Earn in South Africa, Creche Preschools in Capetown, South Africa and more.
"My wife and I have been Mocha Club members for almost a year, and we've been blown away by their undeniable impact on the people of Africa,” explains Aaron Morgan of Seabird. “Ryan and I took our first trip to Africa when we were just teenagers and were deeply impacted by the genuine love and compassion we saw in the people even in the midst of such intense poverty. They are thankful when there is little to be thankful for. And they find joy when joy would seem to have left town. Their heritage is a rich one and they embrace it as if it were a precious gift. We mean it when we say we're honored to partner with Mocha Club to make education a reality for African kids who deserve a chance." Over the Hills and Everywhere comes as a follow-up to the band’s release of the song “Joy to the World” which was featured on an episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” during last year’s holiday season. Songs included on the direct to iTunes ® EP include “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Go Tell It On the Mountain,” “What Child Is This?” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night.”
“I remember taking Aaron to see the Nut Cracker ballet one year when we were in our late teens. We both got dressed up in suits, headed down to Music Hall and lost ourselves in this magical classic,” admits Ryan Morgan. "We wanted to record the classics the way we would any other of our songs. After all, the lyrics are quite good and worthy of creative and inspiring music. I think it's worked for us. We did two last year (‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Silent Night’), and our fans seemed to love them when we performed them in our set on our headlining tour last Dec. So we did five more this year that we are really pumped about.”
Seabird will take their Christmas tunes to the road from the end of Nov. to mid Dec. on the “Over The Hills and Everywhere Tour” with opener Ben Rector. For more information on the tour, visit www.myspace.com/seabird.

Following the Switchfoot tour we head out with Sherwood, who besides having a massive internet presence have an excellent new album to share with an always enthusiastic audience. We could not be happier that our good friends NeedToBreathe have also invited us to support them on a portion of their ‘Won't Turn Back’ tour.”
The first single from Rocks Into Rivers, “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful,” quickly shot up the CHR chart where it is currently No. 3. “We are thrilled with the success we have seen with the band’s single so far and feel this song still has huge potential in front of it,” says Grant Hubbard, Vice President of National Promotion at EMI CMG. “The band’s hard work and effort in the songwriting and recording process has really paid off as we are seeing this song climb the charts at our CHR format. We are looking forward to pushing this song to the Christian AC format in the coming weeks.”

Seabird Celebrates the Release of their New Album: Til We See the Shore

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) May 12, 2008— Cincinnati-based piano-rock outfit Seabird will release its Credential Recordings debut, Til We See the Shore, on June 24. Already generating an early buzz among critics, the project contains songs of real life struggles, relationships, losses, bittersweet goodbyes and the courage to share love.
“We want to invite the listener to share the emotions, victories and defeats we all experience as normal, everyday people,” says frontman Aaron Morgan. “There is a redemptive quality present in this record, even in the darker moments. We hope it will be an oasis for those who were left thirsty by years of heartache.”
Seabird’s primary aim is to connect with its audience, “to be approachable and to write songs that people can rely on,” says frontman Morgan. “We want the listener to remember that there is always something worth fighting for and someone around to help keep our heads above water.”
Comprising Aaron Morgan (vocals/keys), Chris Kubik (bass), Aaron Hunt (drums) and Ryan Morgan (guitar), Seabird and Til We See the Shore is already connecting with listeners. The band’s hometown CityBeat writes, “Strewn with British influences, Seabird’s music holds the echoes of Coldplay and Radiohead, but there’s an American structural dynamic that runs throughout it as well. And Seabird’s sounds do call out for attention.”
Similarly, Chattanooga’s The Pulse comments “Their melodies have a solid background in Britpop, and sound a bit like a mixture of Travis and the Doves, with vocals reminiscent of the Weakerthans. The piano acts as a strong base for several of their songs and gives the lyrics an opportunity to resonate with the listener.”
Seabird also recently signed an exclusive booking agreement with APA Talent Agency. With major offices in Beverly Hills, New York, and Nashville, APA is one of the largest full service talent/literary agencies in the U.S., representing top artists in all genres of music, as well as theater, movie, and literary clients. JR Montes, the band’s APA agent, comments, “APA is proud to represent Seabird. The band’s solid work ethic, soulful lyrics and dynamic live show make them a perfect fit for our roster. We look forward to long, rewarding relationship with the band.”
The album’s first single “Rescue” is currently available digitally through iTunes and all other digital music outlets. A music video for the song will be serviced to all major video outlets in June. For more information on the band, visit: www.seabirdmusic.com or www.myspace.com/seabird.
