4/4/2011 - Satellites & Sirens Receive First Dove Nominations
It’s been a whirlwind start in 2011 for Satellites & Sirens and it’s only three months into the new year! Let’s start with two impressive Dove nominations for the band, Rock/Contemporary Album Of The Year (2010 self-titled debut CD) and Rock Recorded Song Of The Year (“Anchor”) that is featured on their innovative 80’s infused self-titled project and the song shot to #13 on the CHR chart.
"We are all honored and excited to be nominated for two Dove Awards,” Satellites & Sirens. “it’s encouraging for all of us, as we've spent the last year touring in support of our record. To be nominated alongside such well established and successful artists is an amazing blessing. Additionally, our moms are proud."
Besides receiving their first Dove nominations in two major categories, Satellites & Sirens recently signed with one of the hardest working and artist friendly management firms in the industry, Eaglemont Entertainment (Jason Gray, High Valley). Led by industry veteran, Jeff Berry, the company offers a hands-on approach to management that is developed to support the personality of each artist.

6/23/2010 - Satellites & Sirens Named “Needle in Haystack” by MTVMusic.com and OurStage.com
Always a band to shed light in contemporary society, Word Records’ Satellites & Sirens will be making their greatest impact yet. The four-piece, Nashville-based band is set to be featured on the homepage of MTVMusic.com as the “Needle in the Haystack” spotlight artist for the week of Monday, June 21st. In conjunction with the feature, OurStage.com will offer a free download of “Anchor” as well as new exclusives throughout the week alongside an interview with the band on Tuesday, June 22
Continuing on a relentless touring schedule, Satellites & Sirens will be playing shows throughout the summer while preparing for the fall touring season. The band recently completed the “Air1 Listener Appreciation Tour” with Manic Drive, The Wrecking, and Red Airplane, impacting more than 9,000 fans in less than a month. While gaining notable airplay with their hit single “Anchor”, the band broke into the CHR Top 15 and quickly moved up the Rock charts before releasing an acoustic version to CHR and AC radio.

5/11/2010 - Satellites & Sirens Joining “Air1 Listener Appreciation Tour” As “Anchor” Climbs Charts
Known for their 80’s synth pop meets rock and roll sound, Satellites & Sirens is set to make their impact on the “Air1 Listener Appreciation Tour” launching May 7 in Rocklin, California. Word Records’ unique four-piece outfit will be joining Manic Drive, The Wrecking, and Red Airplane for a sixteen city tour sponsored by National Radio Network, Air 1 as well as Compassion International. All shows are free of charge with all ages welcome.
Gaining notable airplay with their hit single “Anchor”, the band broke into the CHR Top 20 while quickly presently moving up the Rock charts. The band also made their debut on the National Christian Audience chart with the 2nd highest overall debut this week. In support of their new hit single, Satellites & Sirens will be launching the Anchor EP on May 11th as a digital-only release.
2/26/2010 - Satellites & Sirens Preparing for 35-City "Blood, Sweat, & Rock N Roll" Tour with Disciple and Decyfer Down
Satellites & Sirens, the latest rock addition to the Word Records family, is preparing for an extensive tour with Disciple and Decyfer Down. Launching on March 4 in Longview, Texas, the “Blood, Sweat, and Rock n Roll” tour, will hit 35 cities during the months of March and April.
The band’s self-titled, full-length release debuted in the iTunes Top 10 Christian & Gospel chart the first week of the exclusive release. Satellites & Sirens will release to all outlets Tuesday, March 2. The new single, “Anchor” was just released to CHR/Rock Radio as a follow-up to the hit single “Take Me Back.”

10/8/2009 - Satellites & Sirens Releases Second EP
(NASHVILLE, TN) October 7, 2009— Following up their debut EP release, All We Need Is Sound, Word Records newest four-piece rock band Satellites & Sirens released their Breaking the Noise EP on Tuesday as their single “Take Me Back” continues to climb the charts. Including the tracks “Breaking the Noise”, “Come On”, and “Anchor” as well as the music video for the title track, the EP can be purchased at the bands official website and on iTunes.
Last week the band participated in the Nashville chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual Light the Night Walk as well as provided an exclusive concert for participants. Lead singer Geoff Hunker shared the band’s excitement: “It is so great to be teamed up with a cause that is so much bigger than us! We have all be affected by cancer in our lives, and to be a small part of something making such a difference is really exciting!”
8/7/2009 - Satellites & Sirens Releases Digital EP Alongside Influential Light the Night Partnership
(NASHVILLE, TN) August 7, 2009—Words Records newest signing Satellites & Sirens released their debut digital-only EP All We Need is Sound. Featuring three tracks including the band’s first single and video, “Take Me Back,” the EP introduced the band’s unique 80’s-synth rock sound to music listeners via iTunes. The band is slated to release the Breaking the Noise EP on October 6.
On the heals of the All We Need is Sound EP release, the band partnered with the Light the Night Walk, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual walk and fundraising event. The band will be forming their own fundraising team and participating in the Nashville chapter’s October 1st event in addition to nationally partnering with the organization.
