Having grown up in a home of singers and musicians, Austin Adamec was destined for life in music. His father started him off at an early age in "diaper school" teaching him to play the drums. By the 3rd grade, Austin was playing alongside Jordan Mohilowski, the current drummer for the Christian band, The Afters, leading Chapel services at the Christian school they both attended. Austin continued to grow musically and learned all instruments becoming proficient at piano, guitar and drums as well as developing his voice. He naturally became the Worship Leader of the Youth Band at his youth group and was tapped by YouthQuake Live, a local youth outreach reaching up to 5,000 teenagers a month, as the Leader of the YQL Band. His first live album was at the age of 14 with an audience of over 2,500.
Austin graduated from high school with high honors ranking in the top 5 of his graduating class and pursued his Business Degree at the University of Florida. He joined Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) and quickly rose to serve as Worship Leader for CRU at UF. During his leadership, the attendance grew from an average of 300 weekly to over 1,000 students every week! He led and co-produced CRU @ UF’s first live worship album in front of 1,000 students in the University Auditorium consisting of some of his original songs. This album has been taken on many Campus Crusade mission trips and has served as an encouragement to thousands of students around the state of Florida and beyond.
As a charismatic, natural born leader, Austin has a true gift to lead and drive people into the presence of God. He also has a huge heart for unifying the body of Christ, which led him to co-found Unite NOW (NOW being an acronym for Night of Worship) in Gainesville, Florida in 2008. After months of bonding with other talented worship leaders and musicians from around the city, Austin help form the Unite NOW band, that would come together once a semester to glorify the name of Jesus as one church!! The first spring semester in 2008 drew nearly 400 people. Upon his graduation last year, Unite NOW exploded into thousands of people coming out to worship the name of Jesus. His original song, “Release Your Glory,” is still a favorite among the three hours of arranged music. His efforts also inspired others to follow his lead and start similar ministries in their hometowns.
Austin also formed a band called "By Grace" with several friends from youth group and they led worship at conferences, churches and played regularly at local events using original music.
Austin is continually sought out by local churches and ministries to lead worship at their services and events. He has been compared to Chris Tomlin with a rock edge. Amidst his current employment as on-air talent at WJXT Channel 4, he loves spending nights performing at churches, weddings, and concerts around Northeast Florida. His heart and passion is to reach people for Christ through music, and he is actively pursuing that cause in his life.
