Tenth Avenue North is a contemporary Christian music band that was formed in 2000 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Tenth Avenue North currently consists of lead singer Mike Donehey, guitarist Jeff Owen, drummer Jason Jamison, keyboardist Brendon Shirley and bass guitarist Rueben Juarez III. The founding members of Tenth Avenue North all met while attending Palm Beach Atlantic University, and they quickly decided to form a band. Tenth Avenue North released their debut album, "Over and Underneath", in May 2008. The album received positive reviews from the critics, which helped it peak at number 39 on the US music charts. "Over and Underneath" also became the second best selling Christian album during its peak. Tenth Avenue North's second album, "The Light Meets the Dark", would once again receive solid reviews when it was released in May 2010. With the help of three hit singles, "The Light Meets the Dark" would peak at number 15 on the music charts in the United States. The album would also become the best selling Christian album at the same time. The commercial and critical success of Tenth Avenue North would continue with the release of the band's third album, "The Struggle", in August 2012. The album would peak at number one on the Christian music charts in the United States. "The Struggle" would also become the 9th best selling album of any genre in the United States. Tenth Avenue North released their fourth album, "Cathedrals," in November of 2014. Tenth Avenue North won their first major award at the 2009 GMA Dove Awards when they were named New Artist of the Year. The band would win Song of the Year the next year for "By Your Side". Tenth Avenue North would earn their third GMA Dove Award when they won Short Form Music Video of the Year for "You Are More" in 2012.
