10 Bible Verses That Will Inspire You Today

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed today? Or perhaps you're burning with a desire for more Jesus? Wherever you’re coming from these 10 Bible verses will inspire you today.

Romans 5:8 “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

How often do we love people based on how they’ve treated us? If someone is good to us we have an easier time loving them. When we experience tension it is difficult to love, in fact sometimes we hate. Christ died for us while we were haters of him, while we sinned against Him. That is perfect love, loving someone at their worst.

Romans 8:11 “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”

The Spirit of God dwells in you. if you are a follower of Christ. The same power that conquered death lives in you! How incredible is that?!

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

As a believer in Christ we are made new. Our old way of living has passed away, although we will be tempted to indulge in our previous life as a sinner-having been given life, but acting like we are dead. You are made new in Christ!

Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

Being a follower of Christ should not happen one day out of the week, it should happen everyday of our lives. By committing to God everything we do, out of service for Him, we truly worship the Lord of Lords.

James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Giving Jesus our lives and following His ways does not mean that we are immune to trials and tragedies in our lives. As a believer in Christ, we can know that God promises the development and perseverance of our faith so that we won’t lack anything. Therefore, consider it pure joy when you face trials of many kinds brothers and sisters in Christ.

Philippians 4:6 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

It’s okay to let God know how you feel and what you want. If you feel anxious about anything, pray in supplication thanking Him for everything He has already given and ask for the desires of your heart to aline with His will.

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I cannot help but be reminded of the popular lyrics of “Your Love Never Fails,” which has been sung in many churches across the world:

“Nothing can separate even if I ran away. Your love never fails. I know I still make mistakes but You have new mercies for me everyday. Your love never fails.”

Romans 8:38-39 assures us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. His love is greater than.

1 Timothy 4:16 “Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.”

Be afraid of compromise when it comes to doctrine. 1 Timothy warns us to watch our lives and doctrine closely because the two go hand in hand. Our actions will reflect our beliefs, whether we are aware of them or not. Guard your doctrine so that those who see and hear from you will be lead to Jesus.

Hebrews 4:12-13 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

Through revelation from God we have been given the most powerful weapon: the Holy Word of God, the Bible. Daily time spent with God in His Word has powerful effect on our lives. His Word is not dead, nor does it come back void (cf. Isaiah 55:11).

2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

The scriptures are powerful. Not only are they living and active but they are God breathed. God has given us a manual for living a life in surrender to the cross of Christ that we may live in Him everlasting.

God’s Word, the Bible, is a way God communicates with His children through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. I pray that these 10 verses of inspiration will spur you toward daily surrender to God’s Word and will as you begin today.
