Jase Robertson: Bio, Quotes, and Faith

Bio

Ditching class to duck hunt with his dad was common for Jase Robertson growing up. Jase enjoyed spending time with his father; Much of their relationship developed while duck hunting. Each year Jase would cut class the maximum amount allowed by the state of Louisiana in order to do so.

On August 16, 1969, Jason Silas "Jase" Robertson was born to Phil and Marshal "Kay" Robertson in Bernice, Louisiana. Jase is one of the television stars from the A&E reality show Duck Dynasty, and is the COO of the business Duck Commander as well as a duck hunter. His Uncle Silas is the inspiration for his middle name and they have spent much time growing up together as well.

Wikipedia says it well, "Robertson is known for avoiding work in favor of hunting and fishing, speaking 'duckinese', and for his self-proclaimed frog-hunting abilities. He calls himself 'a frog's worst nightmare’." Jase’s favorite duck to hunt is the one he currently is after, regardless of species or gender.

Missy is Jase’ wife. They have been married 22+ years. Jase and Missy met on a “mock date”as Jase tried to make an ex-girlfriend jealous. Now they are father and mother to three children: Reed, Cole and Mia.

Jase runs part of the Duck Commander business fabricating and tuning duck calls while creating new ones. On March 21, 2012, the show Duck Dynasty made its premiere on television. The show has since reached millions after five consecutive seasons on the air. It is the hope of the Robertson family that by living godly lives the world will see Jesus in them and be attracted to Him.

Quotes

Based on what I’ve heard, from fans of the show, Jase probably has some better quotes in the show than what I’ve come across in writing although there may be crossover. These are a few of my favorite quotes by Jase (found in articles and forms):

"Only three things matter: God, then family, then ducks."

“The power is in God.”

“You can talk any redneck into a challenge. That's why so many rednecks die in strange ways.”

“Most people named Willie are either in prison or on the arm wrestling circuit.”

"I never judge a man's prowess by the size of his duck call."

"You can see the true heart of a man when you're out in the woods with a weapon.”

"When you don't know what you're doing, it's best to do it quickly!"

“Where I come from, your truck is an exact reflection on your personality.”

“Nothing tells a girl you've moved on more than a deer in the back of your pickup truck.”

“I've been driving here my whole life and have never parallel parked, I protest parallel parking.”

“I don't know why everyone is so upset late and and dirty, I've been showing up late and dirty my whole life.”

“There's a time to cook and theres a time to kill, this is the time to kill.”

Faith

Jase Robertson recognized his need for a Savior when he was fourteen-years-old. The Bible says Jesus is “the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through [Him]”(John 14:6 ESV). Jase Robertson, as well as his family believe in the Gospel, which is “Good News”for those who hear it. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”(John 3:16 ESV).

Once Jase confessed with his mouth Jesus as Lord, and believed in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, he was saved. Following that, Jase obeyed the command to be baptized (Acts 2:38). At fourteen Jase’father, Phil, baptized him in a nearby river.

Since following Christ, Jase Robertson has found that he grew up playing a lot of defense with his faith and that by going on the offense and being vocal about his faith he sees the power of God living through Him.
