Flicker Records’ newest punk/pop trio; Elventyseven, formed in Greenville, South Carolina by Matt Langston, Caleb Satterfield, and Jonathan Stephens debut And the Land of Fake Will Believe bringing together a high energy punk/pop with a punch with spiritual depth.
Eleventyseven has a very consistent style through out the entire album, with the exception with “Reach That Far”. In some ways this is plus, but it also could also be negative. Sometimes I’ll find myself wondering if I’m on a new song, only to find out it’s a different song. But don’t they do have variety, as you go through the CD you’ll be blasting out high energy through the first four songs, then after the band’s song “MySpace” they move into an acoustic track called “Here with me” after that they instantly go back into a high energy song called “The Unicorn Revolt”. I like the play list if I was in charge I may have changed it a little, but nothing dramatic.
