Before birth, Jason Elam was set apart by his parents for God's purposes. Though doctors advised against his birth and tried to persuade his parents to have an abortion, Jason was born strong and healthy. Jason's parents promised the Lord their dedication and support for Jason to be used by God in the ways He would choose. Their prayer was that of Hannah's in 1 Samuel 1:27-28, "I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord."
Jason is now fulfilling that promise by serving the Lord and at the same time living his heart's desire. Considering himself blessed, Jason is able to do what he loves and what God has called him to synchronously. Leading people to connect with God through the avenue of music is just part of Jason's calling. What he holds most important is a lifestyle of worship by striving for daily obedience to Christ. For as believers in Jesus Christ and recipients of his truly amazing grace, we are all called to live lives of obedience. 2 John vs 6 says, "This is love, that we walk in obedience to His commands."
Jason, and his beautiful wife Robin, live in Hattiesburg, MS, and spend most of their weekends on the road serving and ministering to the body of Christ. They are accompanied by Jason's band, Eighty-Six Eleven.... |
