| For the past seven years God has been pouring music into Jay's heart and he has been sharing it wherever God has led him. With a very contemporary-acoustic sound Jay seems to draw a variety of crowds. From ages eight to eighty he has ministered to a mixed sea of people. To Jay, the most important part of his ministry is not big stages and flashy music, but rather the words that he puts forth in his songs. God has given him the ability to write and play and he has chosen to do it solely for his God. Jay has been a worship leader at his local church and other churches from the age of 15. His passion to worship and acknowledge God surpasses every other aspect of his life.
Jay's debut CD "Forgiven" has sold over 1000 copies since its release in 2002. Jay is currently working on his next project and hopes to have it finished soon.
Jay has played in many different states and continues to travel all over to broaden the range and effect of the message that God has given him. Jay has just recently graduated from The University of Virginia's College at Wise in May of 2005 with a B.S. in Biology. He continues to follow the will of God as he plays basically every weekend at various churches and books many youth events in various states. His dream and passion is in music ministry, but at this point he simply continues to follow the will and the leading of God for every step that he takes. One day he hopes to be on tour and in the music industry full time.
God has brought many people into Jay's life and ministry over the past few years. His parents have always been very supportive and hold a large place in his heart. His younger brother, Chad, often goes whenever and wherever he can to play the drums and is a great asset to Jay's music. Jeremy Weaver has just recently joined in assisting Jay's ministry with unbelievable harmony vocals and a deep, tender heart for ministry. Jay and Jeremy have a vocal blend that is defined only as an extra-ordinary connection. Jeremy Durham has recently started playing electric guitar with Jay and will debut on the new â?oPiecesâ? CD. Ryan Spoon also plays lead guitar with Jayâ?Ts band and adds a great asset to the ministry.
Jay was recently named one of the nations top 50 independent artists and performed at Atlanta Fest in Atlanta, Ga. in June 2004. Jay has also shared the stage with many other well-known Christian bands/Artists, including: Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, The O.C. Supertones, and Israel Houghton. Jay continues to reach out and follow God. Jay stated, "As He leads me to where my eyes can't see and my heart can't know. I just trust in Him for my everything and all my dreams will one day be seen." This is his hope and desire that the music that has been given to him by God would bless the Christian community and save the lost. If you have the chance you should try to see Jay live for yourself and you be the judge. God Bless You All!!
