In January of 2005, Keith prayed hard for a breakthrough year. God answered his prayer quickly as he wrote his first three worship songs within a week. The ministry took off from there. By the end of 2005, Keith and his band had recorded a full length album in GRAMMY Award Winning Bias Studios and shared the stage with Chris Tomlin, Jars of Clay, and Ginny Owens. Since then Keith has written numerous songs and continues to record them in hopes of putting out a new album in late 2007. As he prays for direction, Keith is constantly provided opportunities to share his music and testimony.
Keith Elgin Band consists of talented and extremely versatile musicians who each have a heart to serve God through music. Keith explains, "No matter what the style of the song is, we just want to lead people to worship Christ. That's what it's all about." They support their distinct contemporary sound with mandolin, creative percussion and an occasional soprano sax...but they also love to rock out! Their dedication to God's message is shown by their ability to lead worship as a band at Christ Church in addition to outside events. There is no greater example of the transformation brought by Christ than a young person. I have personally seen parents come to the Lord after seeing the witness of God's work in their child's life. There is also no greater witness to peers than a life lived for Christ. God will not only use this witness to affect the world now, but to change the world in the future.
Students, please open yourself to the purpose God has created you for...first and foremost to love Him with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to be his witness to the world by loving your neighbors. There is no age limit on God, so let's all work together to bring His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven!

Keith is not only the leader of Keith Elgin Band, but also the co-worship leader for Sunday morning services (with one of KEB's lead guitarists - Brian). His other responsibility is the Director of Youth Worship for Christ Church's student ministry, which is pastored by Keith's brother Nate, who is also a songwriter and background vocalist for Keith Elgin Band. All the members of Keith's band will be found leading worship at the student service from time to time, as well as mentoring the members of the up and coming youth bands.
