Deah Harriott & Images has been spreading the Gospel in song to audiences across the country. With their unique blend of Contemporary Christian, Traditional Gospel, and Modern Praise and Worship, people from all walks of life have been touched by the anointed music ministry of Images. Deah Harriott, the founder and director, explains, "We are not a group, we are ministers. Our goal is to create a channel with our audience that will connect them spiritually to Christ."

On January 21, 2006, Deah Harriott & Images released their stunning debut album, "Sacrifice." The album release concert at Capitol City Christian Church of Lincoln, NE blessed over 600 people in attendance. "The local support is absolutely over-whelming! I feel that people are really rooting for this project. To God be all of the glory and praise!" exclaimed Harriott after ministering that evening. "Sacrifice," with the majority of songs written or co-written by Harriott, features the group's first single, "Givin' Him Praise," an R&B infused, hand-clappin', foot-stompin' track as well as the Richard Smallwood influenced title track, "Sacrifice." A unique quality of this project is that it is entirely produced by Harriott, as there are not many female producers in the gospel industry.

Deah Harriott grew up in an extremely musical family and is a classically trained pianist, studying since the tender age of three. At age seven, she discovered a budding gospel group by the name of the Richard Smallwood Singers, who became her primary musical influence. "I was instantly hooked," Harriott describes, "I would play his [Smallwood's] songs over and over again. My family would hide his albums from me because I'd wear them out! I think I was just amazed by his inter-weaving of gospel and classical music. I never heard anything quite like it!" One of the proudest moments of her teenage years was teaching herself Smallwood's gospel-classical rendition of the Lord's Prayer at age 13. Other musical influences include Thomas Whitfield, Donnie McClurkin, Kurt Carr, Fred Hammond, J Moss, Dorinda Clark-Cole, KiKi Sheard, Karen Clark-Sheard, and many more. At age 18, Harriott received a devastating blow to her spiritual life when her mother passed away. After going through a depression, she began her journey of song-writing to combat her pain. Harriott attributes her deeper connection with God and music to losing her mother at a time when a mother was most needed.

Continuing her training, Harriott received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education, emphasis in piano and voice, from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She received numerous scholarships and awards attributed to her musical accomplishments including Who's Who Among College Students, she became the first Black woman to receive the Mayor's Arts Award (for her contributions to the musical richness in the city of Lincoln), she served as minister of music at two churches, a piano and voice teacher, and penned many original choral works debuted and toured by the select Wesleyan University Singers, as well as functioning as the student director. Upon graduating from college and moving to the Dallas, Texas area to teach vocal music for a season, Harriott received a spiritual assignment to return to Nebraska. She took heed to God's call and now the album is here!

Since their humble beginnings at the Allon Chapel SDA Church in Lincoln, NE, Images has gained distinction, won various contests locally, and received national acclaim. They have shared the stage with gospel music legends such as Fred Hammond, Ted and Sherri, CeCe Winans, Richard Smallwood, and Virtue. The group has also been blessed with the honor of being a part of the New Artist Showcase for the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) as well as being involved in their local chapter.

The inspiration behind the songs is centered on what God has done in the individual lives of the members. Elizabeth Anderson, one of the original members of Images says, "This CD is our testimony. We have been through so much, but through all the heartaches, victories, and changes, God has been our anchor." Harriott further states, "we've answered the call, we've done our best--because Jesus paid that awesome sacrifice, He's going to do the rest!" Deah Harriott & Images stood the test and "Sacrifice" is here. So, "let us not be weary in well doing: for in dues season we SHALL reap!" (Galatians 6:9) ...
