Four Days Late began in 2000 as a worship band for the Baptist Campus Ministries worship service at Jacksonville State University located in Jacksonville, Alabama. We started out with three members: Adam Blalock (guitar), Robby Cantrell (lead vocals and guitar), and Joel Stapleton (drums). Joshua Prestridge (bass guitar and background vocals) joined to complete the group in 2005. We have recorded three albums, our latest being our brand new EP, Reign, released at the end of 2006. 2007 is shaping up to be the most productive and rewarding year that we have experienced. We are continuing to work on a full-length album to be released later on in 2007. We are excited about the potential of this project. We have dates booked into December and big plans that we will be announcing later on this year.
2006 was an exciting year for Four Days Late. We have seen incredible growth in our spiritual lives, songwriting and live performances. At times, we have faced a rigorous, yet rewarding schedule filled with worship services, student conferences, concerts, and radio and television appearances. Early in 2006 we set out to complete our current project, Reign. The 5 song EP is filled with powerful worship songs that are deeply rooted in the salvation that only comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Four of the songs were recorded at Blair Music Works and produced by Barry Blair (Audio Adrenaline, Bleach). The fifth track was recorded at Pendlewood Studios and produced by CR Pendleton. We were also privileged to share the stage, in 2006, with notable artists such as Chris Rice, Shaun Groves, and Bethany Dillon.
The name Four Days Late comes from the scripture found in John 11:17 (So when Jesus came, He found Lazarus had already been dead four days.) Though Jesus seemed to be late, He was really on time...His time. Any time you have a chance to talk with us, one thing we will tell you is that God has always seen the group through life's ups and downs. Collectively we feel we have always been brought to the right place at the right time. We have a true passion for worship, and we have fully embraced our role as worship leaders. Four Days Late will always perform high-energy concerts, with original rock/pop music that is deep in great guitar riffs and driving beats. However, at our very core, we are worship leaders.
"We know we have been called to be worship leaders," says Four Days Late lead singer, Robby Cantrell. "We are not perfect Christians and we struggle daily with the tough parts of life just as anyone else however, we know that living the life of a Christian is the absolute greatest existence anyone could ever have in their lifetime."
Because of this, we feel it is our duty to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ every time they have the opportunity. Four Days Late has a mission to win the lost to Jesus, encourage the ever-growing body of Christ, and help bring the church to a true understanding of living a life of worship.
