explodingface is Christian rock’s legend guitarist, Stephen Anthony Laudise and hot new pop vocalist, Holly Lewis. explodingface have been together for 5 years. Their musical style is melodic pop rock with gospel fusion. They released their debut album titled, “Bang” in March, 2006. They recorded in Sacramento, California with independent producer Ralph Stover. They were blessed to have the talents of Cecil Ramirez on keyboards, 77’s guitarist Mike Roe and drummer Bruce Spencer on the album. Stephen Anthony Laudise originates from Kailua, Hawaii and is the Senior Pastor of Hope Chapel Kailua. He is also the praise pastor there where he leads the congregation into worship weekly. He has been playing, writing, and recording music for over 30 years. Stephen, though based in Hawaii, has played in huge venues all over the world, including Hawaii’s Aloha Stadium, The Waikiki Shell, England’s “Cross Rhythms Music Festival,” and in Japan, Sweden, and Germany. Holly Lewis also from Kailua, Hawaii has been studying voice with well known voice guru, Betty Grierson for the past 5 years. She is a member of the Hawaii Opera Theater’s Women’s Chorus. She has performed in classics like, “The Flying Dutchman,” “Pirates of Penzance,” and “Il Triticco” at the Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu, Hawaii. She began singing on Hope Chapel Kailua’s praise team in 2002 and is currently pursuing singing as a career. Holly Lewis originally joined Stephen in a band called, “The Boys Home” as his background vocalist in 2003, and eventually became the lead singer of what is now called, “explodingface.” Holly has been co-writing with her dad for the past year, and they are in the process of writing new music for their upcoming blues album titled, “Somebody.” explodingface has played in venues of Hawaii including “China Vemura’s Longboard Classic” and “Surfing the Nations” at Waikiki Beach, The Waikiki Shell’s “Harvest Crusade,” The Pipeline Café, and have performed in local churches of Hawaii including: Hope Chapel Kaneohe, Hope Chapel Olomana, Hope Chapel West Oahu, New Hope Kapolei, Hope Chapel Kauai, Calvary Chapel, and have been broadcasted on KLHT radio 1040 AM, "Olelo" and DayStar Television. Last summer they had the opportunity to play at the "Calling All Nations" pre event music festival at Lukas Church in Berlin, Germany. They played at Prince of Peace Fellowship in Duluth, Minnesota this past August, 2007 and they have plans to tour England next July, 2008. explodingface enjoy ministering at other churches and encouraging the body of Christ. However, their main goal is to reach those who don't know Jesus through spirit-filled music. They believe they can achieve this goal by continuing to learn and perfect thier craft as musicians, playing in their community whenever they have the chance, and by praying for God to lead them to thier next destination/opportunity as a band.
