Wesley Layton Walters began his recording career in college at a local church when writing 10 original tunes to raise money for a ministry in auburn, al. SInce then he has done the same thing in murfreesboro, tn, spawning a christian rock band, echosflow, performing 200 dates in 2 and 1/2 years. When that finished walters and guitarist John Potts created “the throws” from collaborating on over 16 songs in one summer. even while recordings were underway, they began performing in clubs in Nashville. As this group separated, Potts approached wesley about recording a solo project for him. in the middle of production at Dark horse studios in franklin, tn, walters, (now performing as wesley layton in public) was offered an opportunity to join ministry efforts in buffalo, ny with restoration church as their creative arts pastor. Consequently, a move which has brought many new songs. Believing this was a must-go life-change, potts and layton cut production short of a full album and went with a shorter version. Now an ep, ‘rebel of a doubt scene’ was released one week before the move. The response to the album has been emotional and intense. with the debut release of ‘rebel of a doubt scene’ Wesley
layton brings together all of his experience, talent, and energy for an amazingly refreshing perspective on melody and lyrics. Truly, a release for music lover’s everywhere. With help from producer John Potts, this album explodes with great songs and new ideas. the album also includes the track “Forever’s intentions” recorded by Drew Cline and produced by Charles Judge who has also worked with Carrie Underwood, Natasha Bedingfield, Keith Urban, Leann Rimes, and Enrique Iglesias. No disappointments here. After years of rock bands and various group projects, Wesley is in a perfect spot for the solo act. Layton is currently writing for various efforts and is also co-writing with numerous other songwriters and artists. He writes in many different genres and while there are a lot of personal tunes in his catalog, one of layton’s joys in songwriting is putting himself in other people’s shoes and situations and trying to provide answers through intentional, moving, and intense lyrics while providing melodies that grasp the ear and the heart while still being pop-sensitive. from churning out fantastic songs as a songwriter to providing dynamic and fun performances with big, yet sweet vocals, Wesley layton is the whole package
