The Addams Family from Disney is a Halloween favorite since it was released in 1991. It won four awards, including an ASCAP award, Fangoria Chainsaw Award and a Young Artist Award. The film includes a catchy song that depicts the family as anything but normal.

The movie brought in over $390,000,000 at the box office and was the major breakthrough for Olivia Newton John’s career.

4. Jumanji (1995)(PG)

Robin Williams gave a memorable performance in Jumanji playing Alan Parrish. The film won four awards, including a Huabiao Film Award and a Young Artist Award. A favorite part of the movie is when Alan finds Sarah Whittle 26 years after starting to play the game and tells her who he is.

Please note that these titles are currently available, but the licenses to material changes frequently. There are many award-winning movies on Netflix, so if one of these is not available, look for another great title. New titles are added to Netflix all the time and over 50 new titles will be coming in November and December, including How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. All seven season of Gilmore Girls became available earlier this month. What shows or movies would you like to see available for streaming on Netflix?
