10 Christian Songs For a New Year And New Beginnings

The year 2019 has begun and we need to once again press our way to grow in the faith. God has blessed us to grow in this Christian journey. The following 10 Christians songs will encourage you in this New Year with new beginnings:

#1) Your Destiny by Kevin Levar and the One Sound

“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived—the things God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Every year in which God has given us grace, we need to set our minds towards achieving our dreams and goals that have captured our hearts. Our destiny is laid out by the Lord’s design and purpose. There are no coincidences for 2019 for those who love God—only divine interventions.

#2) Beautiful Day by Jamie Grace

“The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad” (Psalm 118:24).

In the humdrum of life after the holidays, there’s the tendency to fall into an attitude of forgetfulness. We forget the new grace and mercies for us every single day. The Lord provides a renewal and freshness in our spirits in spite of our physical limitations.

#3) Amazing by Ricky Dillard and the New G

“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you” (Joshua 3:5).

There’s an adventure awaiting all those who draw near to God. He can amaze us this year with His infinite capacity of giving grace, strength, and wisdom when we seek after Him. The more we know His word and walk in His precepts, the greater awe of His presence and power in our lives.

#4) Lord I’m Ready Now by Plumb

“‘Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.’ ‘Yes, we will come to you, for you are the Lord our God’” (Jeremiah 3:22).

Many of us blew last year in big and small ways. Yet the Lord is faithful and will forgive us our sins. We must all come to the place of surrendering our hearts completely to Him. Our readiness to live faithfully and love unconditionally will help us move forward in the faith so we don’t repeat past mistakes.

#5) Every Praise by Hezekiah Walker

“Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!” (Psalm 147:1).

Every day in 2019 should begin with praises to God! Not just when everything seems to be going our way, but even in those moments of hurt and disappointment. When we learn to praise out of habit and faithfulness, our joy will have no limits and God will use it to encourage others along the way.

#6) Made New by Lincoln Brewster

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

We can’t go back in time and make better decisions from last year. However, we can allow ourselves to be stretched in our faith to explore new and deeper depths of God. He makes us new people in Christ as we know Him better through quiet times of prayer and meditation.

#7) Break Every Chain by Tasha Cobbs

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?” (Isaiah 58:6).

Many people are starting their new year with old chains and bondages of the past. As believers we have the power through the Holy Spirit to break the heaviness of lies, deceit, and shame through sharing our faith. Let’s not ignore the pain of the people around us, but rather take steps of faith to bring healing and restoration with our testimonies.

#8) Start a Fire by Unspoken

“They asked each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?’ (Luke 24:32).

When was the last time we felt the fire of God burning in our hearts? Many times we allow the flame to dwindle in our pursuit of earthly treasures or human adoration. We must rekindle the fire and excitement of knowing God by resisting the desires of the flesh, the world, and the devil.

#9) King of my Heart by Love and the Outcome

“My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end” (Psalm 119:112).

If the Lord is the King of our hearts, then our lives will show the fruit of it. It’s not enough for us to look like Christians on Sunday mornings, we must step out of our comfort zones and let the King of kings reveal Himself through us at home, work, and school. If the Lord reigns within us, it will be evident to everyone around us.

#10) More of You by Colton Dixon

“He must become greater; I must become less” (John 3:30).

One of the best New Year resolutions of this year is making God greater and our desires lesser. Many of us error in committing to resolutions that are all about us; yet we need to make every goal about God having a greater presence in our lives. This has to be an intentional effort every day through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship.

New Year…New Beginnings…New You!

There will never be another year like 2019 for you. This is your time to grow in the Lord. He has a plan and purpose for your life that is a new adventure waiting to be discovered. Let your light shine in the darkness as never before without looking back.
