Christians should be marked by our joy, love, and peace rather than our moodiness. A bad mood can happen without warning because we could be spiritually, mentally, and physically spent. Our response shouldn’t be to make excuses for it; rather, we can be open to admit our weaknesses and seek God’s help to overcome them. We are taught that in Ephesians 5:19-20 to speak “to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Listen to any of these 7 Christian songs to help get you out of a bad mood:

Soul on Fire – Third Day

“Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn” (Psalm 57:8).

Many times we are moody because we forget that we are connected with the Spirit of God who awakens us to life in Jesus Christ. Through the prayer and the Holy Spirit, our spirits are ignited to come out of a bad attitude and to rejoice in the goodness of God. He blesses us even when we don’t “feel” blessed and we can encourage ourselves to sing with all our hearts in thanksgiving.

Sometimes we are moody because we feel alone and isolated from God and other people. However when we come to that point in our spiritual journey, we must remind ourselves of the truthfulness of God’s word. He promises never to leave us and we can be renewed in our minds with peace that we are never alone.

Christians can rise quickly out of bad moods because of the God we serve. Sometimes our moodiness is because God didn’t answer a prayer just like we desired or maybe people we love have let us down. Whatever the reason, the Lord is above our circumstances and He will work everything towards our good if we would only trust in Him.

Overcome Moodiness

There’s a difference between someone who’s moody due to circumstances and those who suffer from a mental illness that causes extreme moodiness. We must become sensitive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit in how to overcome our moodiness—so begin your freedom from moodiness with a good Christian song.
