Hillsong UNITED Receives Their First American Music Award Nomination for "Contemporary Inspirational Artist"

Hillsong UNITED has been nominated for an American Music Award as the nominations were announced yesterday. UNITED is nominated for "Contemporary Inspirational Artist," and this is the group's first AMA nomination. The 2014 AMAs will be broadcast LIVE from the Nokia Theater L.A. on November 23rd on the ABC Network. The AMAs are a fan-voted award show with winners determined by votes cast online as well as via Twitter. The voting is now open, fans can vote by going to the AMA site here.

Since the release of UNITED's 2013 album, ZION, which was their most successful and fastest selling album to date, the band has continued to grow their international reach. ZION produced UNITED’s No. 1 hit, the RIAA Gold certified and multiple-Dove winning single, “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)." This was the group’s first No.1 radio single, cracking the longest reign on Billboard's airplay/sales/streaming-based Hot Christian Songs chart. Currently the single has been on the chart for 55 weeks and counting, spending 45 of those weeks at No. 1. The lyric video for “Oceans” has a staggering 18 million views. Most recently, UNITED was award five GMA Dove Awards including the coveted Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for "Oceans."

UNITED will finish out this year with many upcoming performances in the US. The band will be performing at the sold-out Hillsong Conference this weekend in New York City at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden followed by a full-capacity free show in LA at the Forum on October 23. UNITED will then headline the West Coast Winter Jam tour during the month of November to end the year. In April 2015, Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment will release a nationwide film, HILLSONG - LET HOPE RISE, that follows the journey of UNITED from a youth worship band to a worldwide sensation.
