New Release Movies for Kids:  24 Upcoming Children’s Films

Kid’s love to go to the movie theater to catch the latest blockbuster family film. Hollywood has certainly taken notice as children’s feature films are some of the highest grossing and most profitable going today. And they just keep on coming more and more studios are interested in this genre. Below is a list of 24 movies that are coming out in the next few years that are exciting films for families and children around the world.  This list includes some movies that are not for chilren of all ages, but are still enjoyable if you have children that are old enough.  Some huge blockbusters are on the way in the next 2 years, so we here at F&E will keep a close on these projects and keep you informed.

Buzz: Two very different turkeys must set aside differences and embark on an important time travel mission. They are looking to alter the course of history in order to get turkey off the Thanksgiving day menu.

Buzz: Main character Flint Lockwood will have to deal with the leftovers of his amazing and infamous machine. He must take action as his machine is pumping out frightening food-animal hybrids.

Buzz: The Muppets are in the middle of their huge world tour, but now find themselves twisted into a jewelry heist investigation. There is a Kermit lookalike with an evil sidekick committing going on a crime caper in Europe.

Stars: Chris Evans, Frank Grillo, Sebastian Stan

Buzz: Steve Rogers is teaming up with “Black Widow” in present day Washington, D.C. to battle against a powerful enemy.

19. The Lego Movie

Release Date: February 7, 2014

Stars: Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett

Buzz: A LEGO minifigure finds himself mistaken as the “MasterBuilder” is sent on a mission to stop the evil LEGO tyrant who is trying to glue the universe together.

18. Mr. Peabody and Sherman

Release Date: March 7, 2014

Stars: Ty Burrell, Max Charles, Stephen Colbert, Allison Janney

Buzz: Rob Minkoff, the director of “The Lion King” is back and taking aim at a time travel story. Mr Peabody and Sherman go back in time to experience some amazing moments in history and meet some of the most historic figures ever. Now they race against the clock to restore history before the future is ruined.

17. Untitled Transformer Sequel

Release Date: June 27, 2014

Stars: Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor

Buzz: With ace writer Ehren Kruger attached there is sure to be a good script, and we know Mark Wahlberg takes the lead role for this edition. Story revolves around a mechanic and his daughter that make a discovery which in turns brings everyone looking for them.

16. Kung Fu Panda 3

Release Date: December 23, 2015

Stars: Bryan Cranston, Angelina Jolie, Rebel Wilson, Jack Black, Seth Rogen

Buzz: Jack Black returns as Po once again for a 3rd installment of the franchise. Not Much else at this time as Dreamworks isn’t set to release until December 23, 2015.

12. Seventh Son

Stars: Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges

Buzz: A story set in the 18th century centers on a youth, Thomas, who works with the local Spook. He is training to learn how to fight evil spirits and will face a great challenge when the powerful Mother Malkin escapes, but the Spook is away so Thomas must do his best.

11. Cinderella

Buzz: Kenneth Branagh is attached to direct this project, while Aline Brosh McKenna and Chris Weitz are signed on for the screenplay.

10. Frozen

Buzz: The team of Anna and Kristoff take an epic voyage encountering freezing conditions and a very funny snowman, Olaf. They are racing to find Anna’s sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.

Buzz: Dusty Crophopper is back for more in the follow up to Planes.

8. Star Wars: Episode VII

Release Date: 2015(Rumored to be May)

Stars: Harrison Ford, Mark Hammill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels

Buzz: All is rumor at this point with this project as far as script and cast, but we do know that this is now Disney’s franchise with George Lucas only consulting. So far so good though because the first bombshell was that J.J. Abrams would be the director. Also we’ve heard that George Lucas partially wrote the story for Episode 7.

7. The Amazing Spider Man 2

Release Date: May 2, 2014

Stars: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx

Buzz: Trying to keep his word to leave Gwen Stacey out of his dangerous life, Spider Man has to face “The Rhino” and “Electro”.

6. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Release Date: December 13,2013

Stars: Martin Freeman, Ian McKellan, Richard Armitage, Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly

Buzz: The Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf have successfully escaped the Misty Mountains, and Bilbo has gained the One Ring. They all continue their journey to get their gold back from the Dragon, Smaug.

4. How to Train Your Dragon 2

Stars: Jay Baruchel, Kristen Wiig, America Ferrera

Buzz: 5 years has past since Hiccup and Toothless were able to unite dragons and Vikings at the island of Berk.

3. Rio 2

Buzz: Blu, Jewel and their 3 kids have the perfect existence in beautiful Rio, but Jewel wants the kids to get out there and live like real birds.

2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Release Date: August 8, 2014

Stars: Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner

Buzz: This franchise has gained a huge amount of mainstream pop in the last year with the launch of the cartoon series on Nickelodeon.  Leaving no reason to doubt the potential for huge box office success with the big screen reboot.  The story consists of  aliens invading Earth and inadvertently spawning a quartet of mutated reptilian warriors, the Ninja Turtles, who rise up against them to defend the world.  This story does include "The Shredder" as a main character as well as including April O'Neil, Splinter, and Baxter Stockman in the story as well.

1. Finding Dory

Release Date: November 25, 2015

Stars: Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton

Buzz: Huge amount of buzz surrounding this project, it was in high demand and now with Andrew Stanton returning as director and Ellen DeGeneres back as the lovable “Dory” fans finally get what they’ve been waiting for. This is the most overdue sequel in the movie franchise era, the wait will finally be over Holiday season 2015!

Conclusion
