Top 10 Anticipated Christian Albums of 2015

It’s the start of a new year and many Christian artists are going to be releasing albums throughout the year. There were over 380 albums released last year from countless artists, including Big Daddy Weave, Capital Kings, Chris Tomlin, City Harbor, Danny Gokey, Francesca Battistelli, Hillsong United, Jamie Grace, Jars of Clay, Lauren Daigle, Michael Sweet, Plumb and many others. Some of these same artists have announced new tracks coming out. I’m excited to see how God will be glorified, uplifted and honored and lives touched by the new music released.

Here are the top ten anticipated Christian albums of 2015.

10. Directions Home (Songs We Love, Songs You Know) by Point of Grace

I’m not usually a huge fan of albums with collections of music since I become accustomed to the order of songs on the original CDs, but I am really excited about this new album from Point of Grace! Their first album debuted in 1993 and the last album, A Thousand Little Things, was released in 2012.

9. This Is Living by Hillsong Young & Free

This Is Living is the newest CD by Hillsong Young & Free, which is written for a younger crowd. There are five new tracks, including “This Is Living (feat. Lecrae)”, “Energy”, “Pursue”, “This Is Living (Acoustic)” and “Sinking Deep”. The entire CD is 22 minutes long. Hillsong Young & Free is part of the Hillsong Church in Australia and they tour around the world. They have released 16 songs so far, including “Wake”, “Sinking Deep” and “Alive”.

8. Who I Am by Blanca

I had the chance to see Blanca in concert at Winter Jam 2015 in Grand Rapids, MI and she totally rocked the stage! She was formerly with Group1Crew. The “Who I Am” single is already available and will be on the full-length album by the same name in March.

7. Ocean Way Sessions Live by Love & The Outcome

Love & The Outcome released their first album in 2013 and even won a 2013 GMA Canada Covenant Award for New Artist of the Year. Look for their new album Ocean Way coming later this month. The new album includes six tracks, including “King of My Heart (Live)”, “Heart Like You (Live)” and “He Is With Us (Live).”

6. We Will Not Be Shaken by Bethel Music

We Will Not Be Shaken is the next album coming from Bethel Music. Bethel Music is a group of musicians from Bethel Church in Redding, California. They have released 18 albums over the years. The newest album features 11 songs, including “We Will Not Be Shaken,” “Jesus We Love You”, and “Ever Be”.

5. I Will Follow by Jeremy Camp

I’m so excited for the next album from Jeremy Camp called I Will Follow. Jeremy is so genuine and sings with his heart wide open. The deluxe version of this new album contains 16 songs, including “Living Word,” “I Will Follow (You Are With Me)” and “He Knows”.

4. Diamonds by Hawk Nelson

Get ready for another album from Hawk Nelson! Diamonds will be released in March as their 22nd album since 2000. Made was their last album and it was released in 2013. Not a lot has been released about the new album, but I’m excited to hear some new tunes from the group!

3. The Maker by Chris August

Chris August released his last album, The Upside of Down, in 2012, so I’m really excited to hear new music on The Maker, which will be released in April. My current favorite songs of his are “Restore”, “Center of It” and “7X70”.

2. Broken Temples by Kevin Max

As a former singer for both DC Talk and Audio Adrenaline, Kevin Max is no stranger to singing hit Christian music. His next album, Broken Temples, will be released in March. It was originally scheduled for releasing November of last year, but was delayed. This CD promises to show the honest and real side of Kevin.

1. Lead Us Back by Third Day

I can’t get enough of Third Day and I’m so excited for the Lead Us Back album to be released in March, right during the Soul on Fire Tour with Peter Furler and Ellie Holcomb. You can always count on great music from Third Day; one reason being they keep seeking God as they continue to play and perform after twenty years together!

There will be many more albums released through out the year – most have not been announced yet. I always love new Christian music, whether it is a worship album, soundtrack, a new artist or one of my old favorites. What artist do you hope releases a new album this year?

There are many movies that have impacted my life, but a few include God's Not Dead, The Shunning and Letters to God.
