Top 10 Female Christian Rock Singers

If you know me, you know that I LOVE Christian rock and Christian metal music! The influence of women as vocalists can be extremely powerful in this type of music. The mix of their beautiful vocals and hard edge sound brings an amazing experience for the ears! Here are my top 10 favorite female Christian rock singers and my favorite lyrics they have sung! Enjoy!

10. Sara Acker, Inhabited

Inhabited is the lightest band of the bunch, but Sara is so gifted at what she does. My favorite song of hers is “One More Night”. She wrote it about an email that a girl sent to her.

Favorite Lyric – “When you feel like you can't take anymore, hold on, hear me, you're not a mistake. God has a plan for you.” (One More Night)

9. Krystal Meyers

Krystal Meyers is an energetic person and she is a great fit for lead vocals! I wish she was still making music! She stopped in 2009, and I can only hope she makes more in the future.

Favorite Lyric – “I know that it's Your will, so I'm gonna shine until I'm a city on a hill and they can see You, and know You.” (Fire)

8. Jen Ledger, Skillet

Jen Ledger was a perfect fit when she was brought on by Skillet to play drums. But she can sing too! She has an amazing voice and she has brought a lot to the table since she started with the band!

Favorite Lyric – “You are my salvation. Hold me, heal me, keep me near (Oh oh yeah yeah). My heart will burn for You. it's all I can do. (Salvation)

7. Rebecca Éowyn Denee Krueger, Éowyn

Honestly, Éowyn is one of the more original bands I’ve heard lately. Rebecca’s voice is mesmerizing and the hard edge music accompanying her complements her voice very well. What makes her even more original is that she has released her own Bible study which comes with 11 of Éowyn’s songs. Each song is its own chapter!

Favorite Lyric – “When the darkness overwhelms you, and you feel like no one cares, do not fear. There is a God who loves you and He is taking your hands.” (Beautiful Ashes)

6. Lacey Sturm, Flyleaf

Lacey left Flyleaf last year, for a very great reason: to be a mom! Unfortunately that meant getting a new singer. Lacey was an amazing vocalist for the band and her lyrics impacted many people.

Favorite Lyric – “We spread our open hands and He is rising up, repairing all that's broken. Look at the healing come. We spread our open hands. Forgiveness holds them up. We're swept away by this.”

5. Ariel Bloomer, Icon For Hire

Ariel is a talented singer and she holds her own for sure. She is a perfect fit for lead vocals in this band. She has stage presence in her videos, and I sure it the same at concerts.

Favorite Lyric – “Come on dry your eyes; meet me on the other side. Run as fast as you can and we'll make it out alive. We know better now; we don't have to live like this. Go tell them all we don't have to live like this.” (Get Well)

4. Alyssa Barlow, Barlow Girl

Barlow Girl has put out numerous hits and Alyssa’s voice is just beautiful! Although many of their biggest hits aren’t that rockin’, I consider them a rock band because of the songs that are rockin’! Some of their hits are: “Never Alone”, “I Need You To Love Me”, “Grey”, and their version of the praise song “Enough”

Favorite Lyric – “And though I cannot see You, and I can't explain why, such a deep, deep reassurance

you've placed in my life. We cannot separate 'cause You're part of me. And though You're invisible, I'll trust the unseen.” (Never Alone)

3. Tiffany Arbuckle Lee, Plumb

Tiffany Lee is a power singer. Her voice is very recognizable and she can really belt out the vocals! Plumb, like Barlow Girl, has many different songs: some are lighter and some are more rockin’

Favorite Lyric – “How many times have You heard me cry out ‘God please take this’? How many times have You given me strength to just keep breathing? Oh, I need You! God, I need You now!” (Need You Now)

2. Dawn Richardson, Fireflight

Dawn is a power singer also. She has an amazing voice. Fireflight’s biggest hit is “Unbreakable”. If you haven’t heard it yet, please go check it out!

Favorite Lyric – “Forget the fear. It’s just a crutch that tries to hold you back and turn your dreams to dust. All you need to do is just trust.” (Unbreakable)

1. Sarah Anthony, The Letter Black

Sarah Anthony is not only a talented vocalist, but her lyrics are just as amazing! I couldn’t picture The Letter Black without her leading the band.

Favorite Lyric – “Save me from losing myself! I'm hanging on by a thread! Can You see who I am underneath my scars? I'm afraid to fall, so I'm holding onto You. No, I won’t let go. I'm hanging on by a thread.” (Hanging On By A Thread)
